While I'm waiting to get engaged.. Let me Nawww and gush over your stories of how your proposal went and what your engagement ring looks like.

I don't know if I should sub because I really have no interest in hearing about others romantic proposals.... as mine was so **** poor.

During one night of drinking I started nagging my bf of 9 years about when he was going to propose. We already had a mortgage together at that point. I said he would never do it and basically dared him to propose. He got down on one knee and held a bottle top and popped the question and I accepted. The next morning I asked if that meant we were now officially engaged he said "yeah I guess so if that's what you want". So I rang his mum to put an announcement on the paper.

    Ahh, true love.

DH asked me to marry him in the birth suite immediately after DS was born. He's a farmer so I often joke that he waited to see what kind of offspring I'd produce before sealing the deal!
My engagement ring was custom made. It's a pretty standard design but the band and he height of the setting was what I wanted done.
    Here's a pic.

Dh asked me like 7 times before I accepted - he was keen! We'd only been going out 2 months before he asked the first time. He didn't have a ring but the first time was quite romantic...we had dinner in a park then went for a walk. It was spring so the grass was kind of long and after the sun had set we walked to a private area where there were a bunch of big peppercorn trees. It was a full moon so it was quite lit and dh spontaneously asked me to marry him. Pretty sure it wasn't planned. I accepted two months later. Haha

Hubby flew me across country to meet his family.
One day on this trip we went into Melbourne city. Where he took to St Patricks cathedral. We walked up the isle and when we got to the alter he got his knee and proposed. Straight after we walked around to the Princess thearte to see Phantom of the Opera. Which i had told him earlier was my dream to see.

We were laying in bed talking and at the end we were like "did we just get engaged?" Lol. So no actual proposal. Don't even have a ring. But wedding is booked and paid for we didn't even tell anyone for two months, we were going to elope and surprise everyone. Decided not to do that so we told people lol

My DH proposed on top of a lighthouse with a stunning ring. It was awesome except I was worried I'd lose the ring over the side!

DH and I had stayed over in Brisbane for my work. A couple of months before for Valentine's Day he had given me a Tiffany & Co charm bracelet. Anyway I was getting ready to go out for a shopping day and I couldn't find the bracelet anywhere. I started to panic thinking I had lost it - but was trying not to show it as I didn't want him to think I'd been careless with it. Anyway finally I fessed up and said I think I've lost my bracket. He came towards me, got down on one knee and said 'do you mean this one'. He held out my bracket with a new charm added - a heart shaped locket engraved with 'marry me'. I said yes and he took me to Tiffany's where he had organised for me to see rings and to pick which one I wanted - a slightly less extravagant 'Sweet Home Alabama' moment.

I don't have that ring anymore this is a picture from the site.

    IMG_1481944335.625121.jpg

Anyway I promptly lost it about 6 months later - well lost/got stolen. I left it behind in a hotel bathroom (was running late for court) and housekeeping didn't turn it in.

My actual ring is in the safe - don't want to scratch DS3. Will come back and add a pic if I remember. We had one custom made. Selected the diamond ourselves with help from a broker. This was after receiving a very rude shock from the insurance payout on my Tiffany ring. Let's just say you pay a premium for the name and insurance companies don't care!
