Default Menstrual cups and heavy periods?

Are those menstrual cups any good for heavy periods? I'm sick of leaking everywhere all the time. Sick of sleeping on towels and being paranoid to leave the house ect so I am wondering if the cups will do a better job of keep everything clean?

I have a femmycycle that is really good for my heavy days, no leaks, with cups if you have heavy periods they just need more regular emptying

How often do they need emptying roughly?
Also, can they be worn at night? And if so, how often do they usually need to be changed during the night?

How frequently they need emptying depends on you and the cup. I have a JuJu and it holds about 40mL, on my heaviest day I empty every 3-4 hours. The longest you should go without emptying us 12 hours.

Absolutely can wear overnight - safer than a tampon as you should change them every 8 hours.

At the moment, for my first two days of period I change a super tampon every hour, even during the night, so I am hoping I can get a bit longer out of a cup as those two days are always so rough and I get so tired.

A super tampon holds about 14g according to the box. If you get a high capacity cup you could get away with every 3 hours. Maybe longer if you combined it with a pad (disposable or cloth).

Yeh I wear goodnight pads at the same time as the tampons because they always end up being so full they leak
