So sorry for your losses BabyG4.

My first pregnancy was a blighted ovum. I went in at 7wks to see how many babies were in there (I'd had IUI with Clomid and had 2 follicles ready to pop when ovulation was triggered) and was told there were none. My OB wanted me to have a D&C the following morning but I wasn't ready, I wanted to make sure they were right. I had a follow up scan in a week plus 3 betaHCG blood tests and they all confirmed there was no baby. My HCG was still rising but it wasn't doubling. The sac had started to shrink so I took my OB's advise and had the D&C the following day.

In your situation I would wait as well. The fact your HCG is rising normally is a good sign. Crossing fingers everything is ok and it's just a dating issue.

Sorry to hear @babybump08 I hope you have followed on to have healthy pregnancies!

I haven't returned my OB's calls, he's left a few voicemails saying "I need the D&C now" but again what's the harm in waiting. Had more bloods yesterday, GP rang to say they are still rising normally and I have another scan booked for Saturday. Prepared for no heartbeat but praying there is one!!

Stick to your guns lovely. Unless you are 100% satisfied that this pregnancy is not viable then I wouldn't be setting foot anywhere near a hospital. Miracles do happen. Doctors can be wrong. I am crossing everything for you

@BabyG4 sorry to hear you're going through this. A friend had a MMC earlier this year. Her hcg levels continued to rise over the period of about 3 weeks from first scan to confirmation of MMC. Apparently the corpus luteum will still produce hcg even if the pregnancy is non-viable. The only way to know for certain is follow up scans. Is there a tertiary hospital near you with an early pregnancy assessment unit? I would be calling them for an appointment and a tertiary ultrasound scan to either confirm or deny the presence of a viable pregnancy. Fingers crossed. Definitely don't go ahead with a D&C unless you are 100% certain that the pregnancy has ended.

I had a MMC in feb. My hcg was all over the place. Dropped a little then rose a little. I had an ultrasound at 6+4 and that showed bub with hb measuring at 6w. After more spotting I had another ultrasound a week later which showed no hb and bub took up the whole size of the sac.
I had a D&C, but that was because there was no doubt in my mind that bub had passed

@BabyG4 I have just had the same scenario no heartbeat at 7w+2 but they said I had to wait a week to make sure there was definitely no hope. I am surprised your OB wants you to rush into a D&C. Take the time that you need and to be certain, you don't want any regrets

    Default Possible missed miscarriage

I just had a look for an early pregnancy assessment unit @M'LadyEm and found a women's health place down that road that also specialise in early pregnancy and problems. After my scan on Saturday I may book into them.

I'm really surprised my OB wants to rush into the D&C too. If there was absolutely no growth or a heartbeat then no heartbeat then yes, I understand but not straight away. The afternoon/night nausea has been a struggle especially if it's all for nothing
