I actually have no idea how much they cost! Is it really bad?

I usually take a photo every couple of days as some of the other kindy mums have now got planet boxes as well - a great idea is to use it in the Xmas holidays and January before he starts school , just serve his morning tea and lunch in it so he gets used to using it and work out what's for fruit break, recess and lunch and the great thing about it is it also has pockets on the outside so I put an apple and other snacks in their so he can have afternoon tea in the car ride home
I make lunch the night before , keep it in the fridge, add the ice bricks when we leave and even at pick up it's still cold!

    Subbing!

DD starts ACT Kindergarten next year. She's going to the school that her preschool is a part of. The preschool is in a different location to the primary school but DD has been there for an excursion

We have our orientation in late Nov. I'm holding off until then and then I'll start getting ready. Although I know DD will want the school dress so I might find the secondhand shop and grab one.

OOSH care is something else I have to organise. Enrolment for it at our school doesnt open until end of this month so I have to remember to do it!

@witherwings, there is something so special about the very first day of school with your first child, such a lovely milestone. My first born started Kindergarten in NSW as well and I loved the way NSW did transition over a matter of days.

Default First time school starters 2017 chat thread!

DS starts pre-primary next which is his first year of full time school. He did 3 days a week of kindy this year and has already grown so much
ETA we are in WA and he will continue on at the same school. I'm not sure I am ready for him to go 5 days a week but he sure is!

My little girl starts prep next year.
So far I have enrolled her, have bought a skirt and a skort towards uniforms but still have to do book shopping and shirt shopping oh and shoes. So scared she's my first and only child (@ the mo) but I'm scared I'm going to sleep in, I don't know what to pack for lunches or how to support all these changes.. any tips would help a lot!

My DS is starting kindergarten in NSW next year too! Our local primary school do a 2hr program each week this term for the kids, so he started this week. So far so good, he is so ready and his teacher seems really nice. I will start collecting uniforms over the next term I think, just bits and pieces each week or fortnight. Shoes I will wait and get fitted properly just before he starts. He is our eldest so first timers here too!
