    My other half is female but kinda the same. It must be just something that doesn't occur to the parent who works full time. If i need a break i have to organise it, like i have to say hun i'm not feeling well and i want to lay down. Wait for response which is usually oh ok but i was going to go to the shops/whatever in an hour or so. So i have a time limit for resting. Same deal for sleep ins. The kids always want me in the morning so its me that gets up every morning. It's annoying that it's a choice for them but for the primary caregiver its expected that even on days where your both home nothing changes.
