@Blossom74 I hope you're enjoying your last chilled out day on the GC, with a few Nanna Naps thrown in to help your precious little embryo snuggle in!!
Our Paed Review appointment went really well and I love this Developmental Paed as much as I love DD's General Paed (Winning!!!). We were there for 2 hours going through DD's area's of development and my concerns etc. DD did really well and only lost her shizzle in the last 30mins which is excellent for her. She just walked around and around the room (the usual) exploring on her own (the usual) and playing with her toys and the toys that were there, occasionally engaging with me (also the usual) and not at all with the Paed (definitely the usual..LOL!!).
Anyhoo...the Paed thinks there's more than enough to warrant starting the assessment process for ASD (Yay!!!) which will involve having someone come out to both DD's DC and here at home to observe her plus more observations/assessments with the Paed.
Once the assessment is completed then she can give a definitve diagnosis as she won't know until then. I know as the assessment unfolds all of DD's other regular therapists/special educators/Playgroup organiser etc will be contacted as well for input. I'm really pleased at the outcome from todays appointment. I feel relieved to finally be both listened to and taken seriously as well as have a professional actually agree that it's not all in my head!!!
The Paed told me she would say straight up if she thought I was barking up the wrong tree with where my concerns/thoughts were heading (i.e that I believe DD is Autistic). Will hopefully have another appointment with her in a few weeks. Will update as we go along.
I would also like to urge everyone to remember that you are always free to express your opinion and to warn others about poor service that you have received. However, it's the way you word things that's important. "I thought the service was poor" is ok. "The service is a f**** nightmare, they don't care and they are all B****" is not. (Those are just example and not what was actually written btw. And that applies anywhere, not just here. FB, any written medium, password access only or not. A screenshot, etc, can always be taken.
Just take care with how you word things. TIA
