Default Pcos ttc #1 long cycles bbt tracking opk and FertilAid

Hey all i would like opinions.
I am almost 29 I have PCOS and was diagnosed at 15 spent on and off 15 years on BC have been off BC about 2 years. We have recently decided to try and conceive but i am having a long cycle currently CD 73. On CD 70 i got an am and pm "positive" opk (same darkness as control) i have been using opks since CD 40 as thats when i got them. (i buy in bulk). I also on cd70 started taking FertilAid. I am also temping and my chart doesn't look like i O'd. I feel like AF may be coming have for like the last week and i know you can have an LH surge before AF so if this is the case i wish she would hurry up so I can start a new cycle. What is everyones opions? Can provide opk pics, chart pics, and older hormone blood results. Going to see GP next week for more bloods. I am not on metformin due to that it makes me so sick. I was looking into taking vitex but found it was also in fertilaid. Looking and going down the natural path first to see what i can do if no luck will see specialist in the future.
Looking for success stories for natural supplement pregnancy with pcos advise on opks etc anything really is appreciated. Oh also need to lose weight have just stated ketogenic plan Thanks and Baby dust to all xx

I have pcos and am now nearly 17 weeks pregnant. From the day I was diagnosed I researched natural remedies. I came across a naturopath who used Chinese medicine and acupuncture for fertility. I was 29 and my cycles were anywhere between 48 - 84 days. It was horrible/painful and I was told it'd be hard to get pregnant by my GP. The naturopath got me to 35 day cycles within a few months and after one year of getting my cycles on track I started to get very regular, normal periods with very little pain. Such a life changing experience. I got pregnant the first cycle I ovulated on day 14. I consider it the work of diet/Chinese medicine/naturopathy/acupuncture. Overall it took me a year and a half from getting off the pill to pregnancy. I was happy for a slow, natural journey. If it didn't work I would've moved on to a specialist but I felt I had time to give it a crack. I'm 30 now and will be a few weeks past my 31st birthday when I give birth. I'm amazed that I got pregnant so quickly.

I wish you all the best with your journey. Listen to your body and find out what works for you

    Default Thanks :)

Thanks for taking them time to reply ti me!!

I feel like i have time too not that i am expecting to get pregnant straight away. Like we are in a stable enough position to have a baby and kinda have the space in our house but we would make it work we have recently taken on my teenage sister so our 2 spare rooms are no more lol

I do want to just listen to my body for now im taking all the preconception vitamins and some more for my crazy back and knees but i am already doing better i am hoping doing this ketogenic diet will help me and so thankful my partner is going to try his best and do it with me

I have heard quite a bit about accupuncure and have heard there is only one guy in town that does fertility accupuncture.

Congratulations, I wish you all the best with your pregnancy.

    Hi Teegyz,

My best friend had a lot of success with acupuncture.

I also have PCOS however I have PCOS triggered amenorrhea so I don't even get my period.
I chart bbt and use the maybe baby ovulation scope and both indicated that I ovulated. I went and had a blood test to confirm and my dr told me my progesterone was way to Low to have ovulated.

I'm starting acupuncture and Chinese medicine (herbs) on Monday so hopefully I have success with that.

I also am not in a huge hurry and would prefer the natural route x x x

I have PCOS too. Opks really aren't reliable for pcos. I also had no luck with vitex. Sounds like your body is struggling to ovulate.

I took soy isoflavones to get pregnant with my first and clomid to get pregnant with my second.

    Hey everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me!!

So my cycle made it do CD 85!!!!

I am now CD 4 given the time after my positive opk having a true period fits. I had blood taken 6 days after the positive opks my progesterone was 26 (Australian Units)

    <10 nmol/L Ovulation unlikely
    10-30 nmol/L Indeterminate
    >30 nmol/L Ovulation likely

So bloods are still iffy but I am going to remain hopeful this would have all been when i first started FertilAid and vitamins.

I am taking 1000mg 3 x daily of Evening primrose oil CD 1 through to ovulation. it's a start see how I go. I am going to get myo-inositol and see how that helps me too. The health benefits look AMAZING!! Hopefully the FertilAid helps to shorten my cycles.

It's hard seeing a specialist where I live.. There is only one and I used to work with him (Ward Clerk on maternity ward) and still see him often as I am still in the hospital.

I am going to continue using opks I know ladies with pcos can have random surges or their bodies trying to ovulate several times?

I've asked my mum to send me some of her fertility she was a baby making machine I was the first born and growing up my mum was just always pregnant. She always wanted 6 children and dad was fine with that so they crazily had 6 of us. Mum said she will send me 4 she just hopes they don't all come at once and I have quads LOL

We haven't been on this journey long at all but we have decided if we haven't gotten pregnant by middle of next year then we will see the specialist or perhaps even travel to go to a fertility clinic in the city.

This journey is such an exciting, draining, hopeful, time consuming, thrilling & torturous adventure.

Oh and wait I have more... LOL

Learning more about my charting and what not I started using fertility friend along with ovia. charting wise i definitely prefer fertility friend and ff also picked up possible ovulation with my positive opk, temps and cm. I had 3 gradual rises temp stayed up and the day AF came that morning it dropped below my cover line. Our bodies really are amazing!! Learning about all of this is incredible.

I think sometimes I overwhelm my partner talking about some of this stuff but i am just so amazed at how many things happen to our bodies just going through one cycle. We are ALL amazing!!

I will share once available. it looks like fertility friend is down at the moment can't get on there by my phone or pc. I do have ovia but find fertility friend much easier to read chart wise.

    edit: here it is
