Default 23year old thrown in deep end

Hi everyone, my name is Jack I'm 23.
I am raising my just gone 2 year old brother due to family circumstances that mean he can't live with either of my parents. He has been in my care since early July, so not long at all. I'm just here for some tips, advice, help and support and somewhere to vent at 12am when nobody else understands.

Wow that's a mammoth responsibility you've taken on and your brother is lucky to have you.

Hi Jack and welcome to BH. You've definitely come to the right place :-) is there anything in particular you're seeking support with?

    Thanks everyone!
It's tough but I like to think I'm doing alright. There are concerns over Arlo's development and the paed thinks he is quite a few months behind for his age (only just walking, says some words but mostly babbles with tone, has great fine motor skills but not so great gross motor skills), but hopefully with some help it will work out.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I would suggest looking for a foster care support group. I am a foster carer and find it wonderful having others in a similar situation to vent to, get ideas from, and navigate the system. Look into whether NDIS funding is available in your area for early intervention programs that can assist with paying for therapy. You are a wonderful brother for taking on such a huge responsibilty.
