    Default Employer hasn't heard from centrelink

    I did my PPL application months ago ready for bub #2 due any day now - all online. I seem to remember that last time they sent some paperwork to my employer in advance to get things set up? I've called my payroll officer & she hasn't seen anything.
    Is it normal for the employer not to hear anything from centrelink until you've sent in the birth confirmation, or should they have received some sort of notification in advance? Last time it took 8 weeks for centrelink to start paying, I'd really like to avoid too much delay this time.

    One of our team applied for PPL earlier this year. I didn't get the letters from Centrelink until around the time that the first payment was due. Have you given Centrelink a date that you'd like payments to start?

    Yes I've called centrelink & they assure me it's sitting in the system ready for the proof of birth to finalise the claim. On my online account it says "submitted". I just seem to remember the payroll officer letting me know she'd heard from them last time around while I was still working. Maybe I've just got major baby brain & am imagining things!
    ETA i just put the due date on the application.

    Mine starts next week through work and it was suppose to start last week. Centrelink have had my application since 18/7 but it was then up to head office to get their butts into gear. I got a letter last week in my "my gov" acct stating the start date as 11/10 not 26/9 which is what was put down

    I think this is what happened last time, the pay lady went on holiday so didn't get it set up in time, so the delay was on the employers end, not Centrelink's end. It's just so hard getting a straight answer from centrelink though!

    Mine was employer as I rang to check a couple weeks ago so Centrelink got onto them hence the letter I got last week with my new start date

    The company i work for has 30k of employees and yet they still screw up
