welcome back, I remember you. Northlakes and Griffin are very much growing areas. There is so much happening at northlakes and that whole region will explode now the rail link has opened. I cant really help with specifics, but there should not be much problem if that area suits you. Good luck, marie.

@ SuperGranny Yes, that's what I was thinking. And with the rail link it is fairly easy to get around

    I remember you too!

I think around Northlakes would be your best bet.

I've had a look on realestate.com and there are heaps of rentals for less than $400 per week.

eg these look okay (small but close to a school anyway). I don't live at Northlakes, so can't vouch for the neighbourhoods these houses are in:

It is certainly family friendly and the Westfield has just been extended recently to include movie cinemas. Ikea is opening soon. Oh and there is a Costco there as well.

I've heard mixed reviews on the public schools. Someone who I used to work with refused to send her kids there because she felt the school was too big. However another lady who actually sends her to school in Northlakes loved it.

Ok. So out of the areas you mentioned I would say Northlakes or Springfield.

Stay away from Kallangur, Strathpine, Lawnton, Warner and surrounds. I also am not a huge fan of many areas in Logan (some are better than others).

Northlakes and Springfield are the 'newest' development areas. The blocks are small but houses are decent sizes and new. Also a lot of the development is aimed to be family friendly. Both have shopping centres and public transport close (now Northlakes has a train as of this week!) and also decent parks etc. Not sure on schooling at Northlakes but Springfield Lakes has a state school.

I do not live in either area (we wanted slightly more backyard space) but I do know a few people that have moved to both those areas.

Good luck with the move and welcome back.

This. Also stay away from Deception Bay and parts of Petrie.

I think the newer parts of Kallangur may be okay, but I'd choose Northlakes over it anyday.
