Oh yes, that includes me too! When I was working shift work in a public hospital as a senior ED doctor, even the junior nurses earned more than I did.

ETA: probably because we don't have a union; apparently as professionals, we are not entitled to request appropriate pay or hours.

I hear this a lot too - I'm not a vet but was a vet nurse and still work closely with vets in my current work. People just don't understand all the hidden costs/time/staff/training/equipment etc...

I work in the horse racing industry - people either love it or hate it. Looking at FB at this time of year is hard.

So you think police are ********* too then?

I'm sure they will be happy to save themselves and let you fend for yourself when danger comes your way.

You're the unethical one. I didn't even think of the jingle until your post and now it's stuck in my head too. We're even 😁

As a pp mentioned, the tobacco industry is one that I could never work in. Where I currently work, we used to have a client who was a huge tobacco company and I'm not sure I would have even wanted to work on that account, I.e. Being a supplier who deals with their staff.

I also couldn't work in an industry that supports animal exploitation; circuses, horse racing, greyhound racing, beauty companies that test on animals, animal tourism, etc.

If someone was desperate for a job in a lower level and ended up working in one of these unethical industries I think I'd be ok with it. But a high-flying, director taking that type of role I don't think is ok. They have choices and are not desperate for the money for their next meal for their family.

So it's unethical to defend ones country?

I agree that not all wars Australia has got involved in were a good idea (adding that it's politicians not the DF choose who choose which conflicts the DF get involved with) but still think that the DF is on the whole a good thing for our country.

Killing baddies isn't fun either and many end up pretty messed up because of. I'd rather the baddies dead then out there killing others and have respect for those who have sacrificed their mental health (and sometimes life) in the quest to make the world a better place.

I don't know how people can live with that.
I actually find this admirable, I think...

Hillary Clinton just chose a fairly religious running mate for Vice President and he's been asked several times how he balances his religion with being a law maker (so he may be prolife realizes he has to implement prochoice policies, etc). I really like him because he's not pushing his personal beliefs on others, he understands they should be kept separate.
