Is she a public figure? I thought her only claim to public life was being married to a footballer?

Malcolm Turnbull...now he IS a hot public figure.

First I want to say that she's not just given birth in that pic. She would've spent a couple of hours at least in recovery and c-section babies don't look clean like that straight after birth.

The problem isn't if she's had "work" or not.

The problem is that the expectation on women is to always look amazing. And if you don't, you'll be criticised for it. And even when you do look good, someone will always find something to criticise anyway.

she was a model first. she's also a qualified speech therapist I believe. I think then she met juddy and the rest is history. she did enjoy some degree of mild fame prior to marrying him though. unlikely her career would've become what it has if she'd just remained a Perth model though.

She was involved in fashion quite a bit - was involved with the Melbour e Cup fashion quite a bit too. Also does the weather on tv but hosted a few shows. She also modelled for a bit. So yes. I do think she has more to claim than being a WAG.

Where has she made it an expectation though? She has not posted 'look how great I look after twins - every woman can and should look like me'. She posted 'look at my babies'. And we are commenting on her looks. And yes, shaming her on her looks.

Is this what we do when friends put up a picture of themselves and baby after birth?

Do we comment and criticise their body, their look with our families and friends?

Personally all I comment on is along the line of "you look glowing and your baby is beautiful".

I believe it's a bit hypocritical to say some comments are OK for public figure but not for people closer to you. Each human being deserve the same respect IMO
Also a great example for our kids. It's easier to teach them to respect everyone around them, their friends, their family, people they don't have much affinity with, people with different traits, if we parents show an equal respect to everyone.

She has 2 jobs on tv, is behind a beauty business and yes is a qualified speech therapist. She also runs a website and designs various things for Adairs.

But yeah let's define a woman by who she's married to.

Actually, I asked whether her only claim to "public life" was being married to a footballer.

Fair point. I am not remotely a fan of hers but she has written some excellent papers on her size and appearance and how she is criticised for both.

As I get older I'm far less concerned about other peoples social media interactions and what they post. Good on her for making a living beyond walking a red carpet from marrying a footy player.
