I've not heard that at all. They did need to use generators but they have generators on site for exactly this situation. Where did you hear that?

I doubt that is true at all. They would have lost power, sure, but the generators would kick in within 15-30 seconds. There is no way any hospital with essential power requirements (such as ventilated patients) would not have a generator.

Flinders had emergency back up same as rah. It went out but kicked back in. There where 2 sets of lights working that I know off. One at rah and south rd Sturt rd next to the oval at the hospital. I drove through that one at 430 and bestie went through the other at 5

How scary for you all. My sister lives in adelaide but thankfully she's ok. I'm in far northwest vic and we have had quite a bit of rain wind thunder etc. But nothing like what sa is experiencing.
Got annoyed before reading posts on facebook of people from melbourne complaining they won't get the storms. Seriously?? Why would you want that!

Because they don't want to all miss out on what Adelaide has, even if it's a negative thing! . They always have to be better than Adelaide.

Thankfully this isn't true. I have friends with little ones with medical needs that require power, & they were at flinders overnigt.

That's good! My friends hubby works in Roxby and they could be without power for 2 weeks she said. We are getting the storm now I have the wood fire on and I cooked tea at 5 am in SC lol

Just got power back here. No mobile range still. It was so weird not being able to contact anyone. I just made a call not to go to work because childcare was closed due to no power so assumed school would be too. I decided to stay put and stay safe but was torn because of kids turned up or other teachers they'd have to do extra because I wasn't there iykwim?
