Sorry double post
GG sorry to hear about the dh sperm issue, I totally get the shocking feeling and disappointment. Looking at the positive, two great day 3 embies onboard which have great chances to be two + sticky beans, a caring and fantastic fs who is thinking ahead of the game, and a plan z if things don't work out. Is your dh on warren supplements to boost sperm quality? We face sperm quality issues as most of our embryos dropped from day 4 onwards but I am hoping with dh being on wazza supplements the quality has improved a little over time.
Relax and focus on the moment. Like you said before, you will deal with whatever hurdles that universe throws at you and I have no doubt you will bring home the bub you truly deserve in no time. Hugs dear.
pingc383 Wazza always checks out both partners. He identified a couple of issues with my DH that had been missed by our first FS. We both have issues. I expect he'll give you the results when you next see him - presumably when you are cycling - and he'll incorporate any findings into his treatment plan. At the cycle appointment he'll usually do a scan and then sit down with you to discuss your plan and any questions. Sometimes the appointments are very brief, but other times can be longer. He does often run behind in the mornings, but most patients expect that and are fine with it. After all, most of us have had a longer appointment at some point when cycling. After seeing Wazza you see his nurse as well and she'll go over his instructions. We didn't do failed cycle appointments, but went straight into the next cycle. Although one time I was upset and the girls at QFG sent me in to see Wazza's nurse about weaning off medication (I think it was when I had to have a break over Christmas) and I ended up seeing Wazza and he did up a plan for my next cycle - he is so lovely. He just fitted me in after his morning cycle appointments (for an hour) at no charge.
I'm stunned your previous FS didn't check for cystic fibrosis - how slack!
@pingc383 thats ok dont worry about which thread you post on, its easy to get mixed up. Ive done it before. :-) @Rosie8888 So... we had 7 eggs fertilise out of 9 but by day 3 we only had 2 good embies left, which the fs said means that dh's spermies are no good. And we had no idea that was the case. So we were very shocked and disappointed. So we have 2x day 3, 8 cell embies on board but if they dont work it looks like we will have to use donor sperm and donor eggs and come back (and pay$$$) for a whole other cycle. So we were pretty floored by that. But dr.n was so great. Dh is leaving a frozen sperm sample so we wont have to pay for his flight. Then dr.n will use the same donor and do a split/shared cycle where he will fertilise some donor eggs with dh's sperm and some eggs with donor sperm and see what happens (Its illegal to do this in australia). That way we should end up with some good day 5 blasties even if the ones with dh's sperm dont make it.) Dr.n will freeze the embies, then all i have to do is return to athens for 1 day and do a FET whenever i like. So, things didnt go to plan BUT i am pupo at the moment and we have a plan in place if this cycle doesnt work out. :-) xox
