    Default Nipt?

Has anyone done a NIPT to check for abnormalities and gender?

Did it cost much? And was the gender predicted accurate?

Yes I had one this pregnancy. Our 12 week scan results came back a little high risk for one of the trisomies, so we got the NIPT done (I went the day after I got my 12 week scan results, midwife gave me the referral form).
Paid online, nominated the collection centre, went in the next morning, I think it was Tuesday & midwife rang with my results on Friday! They say 6-8 working days.
We found out the sex & all scans have confirmed the same sex so far. I guess we'll find out for absolute sure in a few weeks!
Cost was $450 for the harmony test - that's the one they process in Australia.

Ditto to everything @rosey82 said. Although, we had ours done at 10 weeks before our scan, just due to the fact that I'm 37. Everything came back perfect then our scan confirmed the same. NIPT predicted girl and all scans have confirmed girl too.

Same as PP gender was predicted and everything came back normal. No answers to why our baby girl was born sleeping 6 weeks later.

I'm sorry for your loss MaybeBabyIVF

We did have the NIPT and found it comforting. The gender is 99.9% accurate so not much room for error there. It does only check for a few chromosomal disorders so not a guarantee of health of course. But I would probably do it again because I find the alternative of the 12 week scan & blood test to be not accurate enough for my comfort level.

I'm so sorry MaybeBabyIVF, that must have been devastating when all tests were normal.
Have decided to have it done after NT scan given my age and to find out gender. So desperate for a girl! Plus there are so few gender neutral clothes etc around

I had it done at 10 weeks and got clear results and am having a girl. My obstetrician recommended it over the nt scan this time as it's more accurate and because I've had 2 losses this year with one being confirmed due to trisomy 21. Oh and I'm 37...
My test was done through QML and was $395 and the results took 10 days.

Yep I did it through genea at 10 weeks. All came back clear and we were told we are having a girl. She's now ten days old and perfect 💕 it was $450 and I had my results in 3 business days.
