Default Accessing superannuation for overseas donor egg.

    Hi ladies,

Just another question about accessing superannuation - has anyone recently been successful (as in this year) being successful in accessing your superannuation to pay to go overseas for a donor egg?
I have been told by a lovely member that DHS rejected her application to go overseas and told her they'd only pay for her to use a donor here in Australia. She said that was in December last year, so things may have changed since then.
If you have been successful, were you able to include your travel and accommodation expenses in the quote or not?
    Many thanks ladies.

I haven't accessed super for donor egg but I do remember coming across this article a while back when looking into accessing super: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-...21-119fs7.html I think the issue is that it is not legal to pay for a donor egg in Australia and so they would not allow the woman to access superannuation in order to buy a donor egg overseas since it is not legal here. I'm not sure if things have changed but thought you might be interested in the article.
