    Default Spelling - Zoe/Zoey/Zoë

So we think we have a front runner for a name if LO is a girl, just not sure of the best spelling Zoe/Zoey/Zoë? We want to go with the most common option but also want to be practical about it.

DH and I both independently went with Zoey, but in another name forum I was on so many said said they haven't really seen it spelled with the 'y' and we should rather go with Zoe. But without the ë we both feel like it's says 'zoh'... not keen on Zoë as feel the ë is just a hassle and will end up falling away. I have â in my name and haven't used it since getting my new passport made without it when I was 16.

Is Zoey more common in Australia than America maybe? Is it acceptable to just use Zoe?

    Thanks!

I think Zoe is much more common than Zoey. I knew a Zoey and she was constantly having to spell her name because people tended to leave the 'y' out.

    Excellent name choice, btw!

Thanks everyone, glad to hear it is more common as just Zoe and no confusion without the ë. No need for us to go with the 'y' for no good reason then. We both have very difficult names to spell so looking for the most logical spelling.

I'm a Zoe and know others all with the same spelling Zoe, never met anyone with any of the other spellings you suggested there.
