I feel really really sorry for Burke. He was just a young boy and he's had the finger pointed at him over and over again. If he did hit her with the torch I'm sure he didn't mean to kill her, he was probably just a kid acting out. If the parents hadn't tried to cover it we wouldn't even know their names.

But there's also an excellent chance he didn't do it. And his whole life was pretty much destroyed by the actions of someone else. He lost his sister. He probably lost his friends. He lost his privacy. It's very sad.

Agree, he probably has an anxiety disorder due to his sister being murdered and the family having to deal with 20 years of interrogation. Plus, his mother had died from cancer.

Also, did anyone else think that the audio didn't sound like anything like what the "specialists" were saying? I couldn't hear those words at all.

I may have misheard/misinterpreted, but I thought he was meaning that because it was getting 24 hr coverage and her pageant videos were being played nationally, that there was judgement coming from people in parts of America where pageants aren't the norm and that was their opinion... Not that it was his.
Pageants are quite a contentious topic. Many people disagree with the concept and think it's leaving the children vulnerable to pedophiles.

Patsy Ramsey was in pageants as a teenager/young woman so I reckon she would have been quite the stage mum and Jon Benet's routine's would have been practised until perfect.

I feel sorry for both of those children. I reckon that Jon Benet would have had so much attention and possibly Bourke could have been a bit jealous and acted out. Who knows but I think Patsy would have been all about keeping up appearances and those kids would have had such pressure put on them. That's what I think.

The s3x assault is widely believed to be a cover up/ afterthought, perhaps that's why?

They will probably bring it up tonight.
I was just watching YouTube videos because I wanted to see some of the Dr Phil interview and one of the investigators from this show said he started out thinking *this is probably what happened, to then thinking this definitely didn't happen. (I'm assuming *this means the family's guilt), so I'm guessing other angles are discussed in the second episode.

I'm still convinced Jon Benet's death was covered up or caused by a family member. I always thought it since it happened.

They were a wealthy family with influence in the community. They could bribe the police department if they were corrupt enough.
