    Default Instagram

    Hi everyone,

Dh and I have started a new business and a friend suggested I use Instagram to promote the activities we do.

I have signed on but I'm a bit confused at how it all works. I signed up as myself. Should I create another account in the business name?

What's with the hashtags? I feel so old!

FB and Instagram are connected. Does the business have a FB page? Also the page should probably be in the name of the business - but you can change the name I believe.

Hashtags - make up your own I guess. They are not essential. Just means if someone searches it your post comes up.

Sign up under the business name and keep your handle/IG username as close to the real business name as possible. Makes it easier for people to search

Hashtags are great for getting new business! So for example if your business is interior decorating, you could use #interiors #blackandwhite #homewares and people would stumble across your page and hopefully like it
