    Default Blood test negative?

So after all this peeing on a stick, my blood results came back negative!

I don't understand it. Either did the doctor when I showed him the tests. He had to ring the lab as they had forwarded the results yet and they just said negative but not what my actual HCG count was.

He's recommended we wait a few more days and redo the blood test. So, going on Wednesday to do that. In the meantime I'm just at a loss. How can it be showing up in my urine but not my blood? Or were they all just evaporation lines?

Qualitative HCG has to be above 50 from memory to count as positive. FRER pick up hcg from around 10, sometimes less, so it could be why the bloods were negative. Some of the ladies on various TTC forums have been getting false positives on frer lately too - frer is calling them 'shadow lines'. Hopefully it's not that, and your next bloods come back positive! You could also try a different brand of test, just for comparison's sake - Confirm and Forelife are good

A HCG of 50 or above is only then considered positive? Really? That seems rather high to me when if you're early, you might still have low levels of HCG, under 50.

I have heard the talk about the so called, 'shadow lines' on FRERs as of late. My positive FRER was faintly pink though so I don't know. Then again, I've tested since and all BFNs!

If you look further back on this thread, my second positive HPT I got was a Forelife so it's not just like it's just one brand showing these lines you know?

Thanks! Hopefully the next set of bloods will provide some answers and insight! I just hate this not knowing and waiting game I'm playing here. Argh!

So after a bunch of negatives since my blood test and last positive, I just got this on an FRER this afternoon with only a two hour old and a fair bit of consumed fluids!

I started bleeding and not due yet for AF this morning too though. Not a lot. Just pink/brown blood when I wipe and a tad of spotting on my panty liner since this morning. Yet this is the pinkest line I've got on the FRERs. It's a lot stronger then the other one on Saturday so I'm confused! I did engage in um, some rough intercourse last night so is it possible I've just damaged my cervic or something? It has been pretty soft.

I go for another round of bloods tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck!

Ask them for the number, that will give you some insight. I know that the digital ones pick up a level of 25 so maybe try one of those to get the numbers. Otherwise it may be what they call a chemical pregnancy where it implants but doesn't progress.

    Good luck for tomoz!

Hey sorry to jump in here! Great pink line in your last pic.
Your blood test tomorrow does the form say Quantitive HCG or just HCG? If they don't request an amount they'll only get a positive/negative answer and not any numbers.

You want Quantitive because with my clinic under 20 is negative.

Hopefully it works out well for you! Good luck!

Yeah, I intend on asking for the number. I asked at my last doctor's appointment when I got the negative blood test results but he didn't have the report. They hadn't sent it through yet and the lab just told him over the phone that it was negative.

I'm really hoping it's not a chemical. I've had four in a row, if it is, this will be my fifth I don't like the way things are headed. Bleeding is barely there now but I'm experiencing a lot of cramping and pinching sensations tonight and I feel very nauseous. Did another FRER before and it was a BFN

    Thanks! I need it!

Hey! No need to worry about jumping in at all! Thanks. I thought it was a great line too but then tonight I got a BFN and a lot of cramping I'm hoping and praying my urine was just too diluted. Bleeding is ceasing however.

The blood test tomorrow is qualitative Beta HCG test, according to the form. I think that's what you mean? It's the one where they tell you the actual HCG level and not just a simple yes or no so think we're on the same page there. I don't know what the last one is and I have a feeling, my HCG would of been low and I know on average (but sometimes higher depending on the lab) it can be like, 50 or something in order for it to be yes or positive.

Thank you! I'm hoping and crossing my fingers that this works out okay! I don't think any good of this cramping and now another BFN but will do another FRER first thing in the morning with FMU and do my blood test too. Maybe, things will work out for once. Like I said, I've previously had four chemical pregnancies and before that a miscarriage at between six and seven weeks

Cramping can be completely normal. It can just be the baby burrowing in getting comfy. Have you had your lining measured through u/s? Chemicals are usually from too thin of a lining or chromosomal issues.

Crossing my fingers for you. There can be success after multiple loss. Mine is jabbering away to me as I type

Really? I always thought cramping was a bad sign...but I guess I only had mild cramping with my last two chemical pregnancies so maybe I'm just a bit too wary about it. It's stopped today. I just keep getting twinges and this slight, milder pinching feeling like last night. Could that just be my uterus adjusting? I think I've read that somewhere. I still have most of my pregnancy-like symptoms too so I'm counting that as a positive and a good sign. Fingers crossed xx

No, I have not had an ultrasound. Maybe I ought to though? Last year I did have endometriosis and had that removed which resulted in emergency surgery because the surgeon clipped a major bleed vessel and no one caught on until my belly was swollen with blood and my blood pressure plummented. I lost three and half litres of blood in the end and what was suppossed to be day surgery turned into a 8 hour one and a 1 week hospital stay! I wonder if I have damage/tramua from that maybe? Who knows I guess but I think I may look into an ultrasound regardless of whether I am pregnant at the moment or not.

I'm glad you got your sticky bean by the sounds of things! That's amazing to hear. Just the potential for success gives me slight hope.

Went for my blood test this morning and will be awaiting results until 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon when I see the doctor. Such an anxious, nerve-wracking 24 hour wait this will be!
