They clinic have told me they are not allowed to quote costs after the safety net as each individual differs they only quote the initial/regular medicare rebate - so frustrating trying to get a clear picture. thanks

@Billie2 i love you even more now that youve confessed your trash tv addiction. I watched australia's cheapest weddings again last night. Its hideous, yet i cannot look away. Currently im watching my seinfeld dvds. I watch at least 2 hours of seinfeld everyday and have been doing that for the last 3 years. I put it on when im in bed going to sleep. Its like my lullaby, i cant get to sleep without seinfeld on. I just watch them in a running loop. And i know them so well that once i get too tired and have to close my eyes, i can imagine the visuals/whats happening on screen just from listening to the audio. Its a very special unique skill/ rather worrying obsessive addiction. But it comes in handy for quiz questions on 'The Chase', so i dont feel that i need to seek professional help just yet. (I have considered packing my mini dvd player and dvds for athens. Dont judge me. I have a disease. )

Good lord!!! You'd be better flying to Brisbane and could add a holiday in for that, plus you could sign up to see Wazza!

I'd realised that the $9300 included Wesley and anesthetist, but think it's outrageous that the $3800 is theirs as well. Yikes!

The other cost to include are FS cycle management fees and FS EPU and ET costs - you don't get much back from Medicare for those. Some FSs do bulk bill EPU and ET fees. Sorry...

@Billie2 I'll come drink with you then but only if we do it on a park bench with our bottles still in a brown paper bag, coz otherwise i feel we'd be too pretentious. I'll bring the newspapers to cover ourselves with for when we pass out.

Yep. Medicare and IVF are confusing. As well as the safety net varying, a few IVF items are also capped - like cycle management fees.

I'd try to do as much as you can in one calendar year, so if you cannot do a couple of cycles this year, maybe wait? Good if you can start any supplements ASAP.

My local regular pub ran out of it one day, on the afternoon of the last day of school for the year!!! I walked up to the bar and the publican and other bar guy were having a huddled, hush hush convo, which afterwards they told me it was about which one of them was going to tell me they'd run out. Bar guy looked at me and ran out the door. Publican said, "can you just wait a few minutes?" I was like, "sigh... i suppose so but it is 3:30pm last day of school mate". Bar guy comes running back in with a bottle of turkey 5 mins later. He ran to the bottlo down the street and they happily served it to me in highly overpriced 30ml portions for the rest of the afternoon (i lie- until 2am when they kicked me out).
God this reminded me of myself a few years ago! I'm glad there are others out there like me!

My drink of choice is spiced rum, can't find it everywhere but mixed with ginger beer, yummo. Or anejo tequila with lime and lemonade.

Actually I went to a hens on sat nite - good thing I'm only a one drink girl now - $16 for one drink
