For my donor and I (we are due to cycle this month) we will have regular FB and phone contact, and I am in a group on FB with her other recips so we can all see each others babies and keep in contact. It gives me some peace because we will probably only have one baby and this ensures that after we are gone our child will have access to their genetic siblings. Our donor lives interstate but will visit us if we are lucky enough to be successful. I love her to bits so I'm comfortable with that.

Other recipients will prefer less contact and I do believe that there is a perfect match for everyone - you just have to wait for that person to find you. The average wait for a donor on EDA is 10 weeks
This thread moves pretty quick, but there is so much wealth of info, support and great advice to learn from everyone. Anyway thank you ladies for your various response regarding the issue of Egg donor contact. At this stage, as mentioned we will have to be honest with ED and request minimal contact and find out how she feels about it and take it from there. @CAEserdust- lots of hugs and love to you as I think we were in SA around the same time. Its so difficult and beyond words to describe how it feels, may you be strengthened as each day passes. Im still processing and grieving of our recent unsuccessful result, as we had not told anyone about the reason we went to SA. But all the very best with the ladies who are cycling and going through the journey, your commitment and enduring strength gives me hope

Sorry @greenlady I was about 48 posts behind when I posted and realise @BlondeinBrisvegas already did a welfare check.
@Spazzyp I like you mire now you mentioned wine. I gave up wine during my whole cycle. But there is a precious 5 day gap between egg collection & embryo transfer. In my experience, do what you normally do post egg collection. Even post transfer. A wine will relax you. There is a new tradition I am supporting that @Caesardust started that you show your empty post transfer. You could be a dry sponge on the sink all dried up, tense & twisted, or be like a wet sponge and spread out & relax..

    No judgement here 🏻

Hoping to get a clearer picture then and will then likely do amnio. Was looking forward to outing myself instead of hiding the pregnancy at work but now that will have to wait for another 4 or 5 weeks until amnio results come through.
Oh fruck Luv!!! (((Hugs))) Jesus bloody Christ!!! How the hell did that happen??? How frigging stressful for you both!!! (((Hugs))).

Am praying to the Universe that everything will be ok with bub & you'll get the all clear from the Amnioxoxo

@Gagingi - I did the panorama NIPT . It came back low risk but doesn't give me much comfort since it's only looking for the major/common chromosomal disorders. It also covered 5 of the most common microdeletion syndromes, but again that still leaves 18 other pairs of chromosomes to have a problem, hence why I think I will do an amnio at about 6 weeks.
