I wonder what the stats of our members would say about the success of IVF over 40? The ones the clinics give you (if they give you any at all) seem to be rather vague. I was just thinking about what @BlondeinBrisvegas wrote about THB rate. It's so freaken difficult to compare clinics. I wish we had a transparent system like the US where you can look online and see what clinic has the best results.

    Hello to the new ladies.

Anyone with a name @Spazzyp is damn welcome here! I just went through the same (mc) and bouncing back and waiting for af which has been circling me like a damn great white all week. Take from this thread that appeals to you, otherwise you will be overwhelmed. We are all at different stages but completely respect where we are at. Im a novice with only 3 stims under my belt, but geez my last 2 were blockbusters. Best wishes and welcome..
@LillyM did the clinic catch you yet for your BT result or are you still avoiding the nurse pity voice with "that call"?
@Dotty27 Welcome! You are in the right spot. So sorry you didnt "fit" their easy peasy parameters. Thats terrible! Are you in Sydney? Have you considered Bulk Bill IVF? Id look into it just for a "dry run" if you want to see how it all works. Our 2nd round of IVF my DH had just enough sperm to fertilise 5 eggs. Its just a suggestion if you want to "try before you buy", so to say. Im with Primary IVF and they are also in Melb & soon to be in Bris. I only suggest this as it took my FS till 3rd cycle to get a protocol to suit me. I have 24hr access to the nurses who, believe me, know me very well. I still get a cup of tea and biscuits after EPU. But I dont know what I dont know, so going to Monash might be completely different and specialised. But to contradict myself, if you have issues straight up, then maybe not waste time and hit it hard straight up. We chose home brand IVF because we have secondary IF and I could not spend a fortune on a maybe baby when it could pay for our sons education and the rest of it. Best of luck & welcome.
@MissDa what are we watching tonight? Im on Love Island, as I love to watch wh orebags and ayholes in a mansion. Mind numbing after a long day at work.
@greenlady I know I am probably a stalker to you but how did the 13wk scan go? You are a positive story for me as you got this far after all that bleeding. You must be mentally exhausted. I have alot of respect for you. xx

Does anyone else hate the Bubhub ads? I have had the stupid egg freezing one at the top of my screen for days.

I think it is really important that you be comfortable in what you agree to. You have to be open and honest up front because at the core of this there should always be respect and kindness. You don't want hurt feelings on either side at the end.

For my donor and I (we are due to cycle this month) we will have regular FB and phone contact, and I am in a group on FB with her other recips so we can all see each others babies and keep in contact. It gives me some peace because we will probably only have one baby and this ensures that after we are gone our child will have access to their genetic siblings. Our donor lives interstate but will visit us if we are lucky enough to be successful. I love her to bits so I'm comfortable with that.

Other recipients will prefer less contact and I do believe that there is a perfect match for everyone - you just have to wait for that person to find you. The average wait for a donor on EDA is 10 weeks
This thread moves pretty quick, but there is so much wealth of info, support and great advice to learn from everyone. Anyway thank you ladies for your various response regarding the issue of Egg donor contact. At this stage, as mentioned we will have to be honest with ED and request minimal contact and find out how she feels about it and take it from there. @CAEserdust- lots of hugs and love to you as I think we were in SA around the same time. Its so difficult and beyond words to describe how it feels, may you be strengthened as each day passes. Im still processing and grieving of our recent unsuccessful result, as we had not told anyone about the reason we went to SA. But all the very best with the ladies who are cycling and going through the journey, your commitment and enduring strength gives me hope
