Always have a plan b, so book things that at the time you think you probably won't/might not need. And to make sure you take good care of yourself, physically and mentally and if you need to get some counselling, do it. It's a tough road and sometimes we get so caught up in the cycling part we don't take care of ourselves well.

The answer to this question will be tainted by everyone's individual experiences. But if I was leaving a letter to myself two years ago - knowing now that I am a poor responder who produces few and crappy eggs - I'd say "Don't waste your time, money and emotional health trying to force your body to do what it is not capable of doing at your age."

I so wish I hadn't done that last OE cycle and had kept that money aside for my donor egg cycle....

yes, a plan b is a good idea and 'expect for the worst, hope for the best' attitude. though it's hard at times when you start hoping too much. realistically expect that it won't happen first go (so/but if it does it's a bonus)

Yes all good to go! I've started my ethinyl estradiol and donor goes off her pill and waits for AF. She sent me a super cute txt cheering that we are starting.

Interesting question. I think, maybe, to consider that until you have done 1 cycle of ivf, its really hard to know how things will go. The fs never tell you this but the first cycle is really like an experiment to get information about how ivf might be able to help you. Obviously we all hope it 'works' first go, but if it doesnt, maybe try and think of it as a very expensive and stressful diagnostic procedure where at least you can learn something and get information about what to do next.
Also, make sure you feel you can trust your fs so you wont be second guessing if things dont work out. If you are confident and trust them, it makes things easier in the long run.
And... (i know this sounds sad and i dont mean to scare you) be prepared for it to be difficult and challenging. Be kind to yourself and acknowledge that its ok to feel however you do. You dont have to cheer up, look on the bright side, keep it together, be strong, blah, blah, etc, etc... Just let however you feel happen and know its ok to be like that....
And hang out with us coz we know how it feels and can reassure you that whatever you're going through its ok :-)
Sorry, you asked for 1 thing but these are the 4 main things i wish i knew when i started xox
(We're a bit jaded on this thread - maybe i should just speak for myself??? But we're all in it together and we are all warrior women which has made us stronger, better human beings) :-)
