I won't hold it against you LOVE the Poasoctober! I'll be there. Don't know what Oripro is so can't tell you the difference, endometrin is better but

@gorgeousgeorge are you in Sydney or regional? Our tuxxy will be mad at me for leaving her alone for a day and a half, she will bury herself under our doona at some point, poor little darling who is looking after your kitties?

Tuxcat ... yay for the 15 eggs....fingers crossed

Good luck Blossom 74... hoping for a very positive outcome...

Georgeousgeorge.. I have read your post so many times... what a wonderful post! Yes you must be an amazing teacher... I am also doing my degree in teaching and am on my last teaching round.. had a late change in career due to the brain trauma...Compared to my earlier teaching rounds, I am finding it very hard to maintain my enthusiasm with 6 year olds after hearing about the miscarriage last week.... have twken a few days off....but my studies have definately been my piller of strength during the past few years..... the small accomplishments of getting a HD in your assessment .... I am going to miss this when the studies are over...

Chiefsgirl thanks for your post and support too... xx

Yes our donor is ready and so should be the surrogate shortly. They need to sync their cycles.... People who have chosen to use DE..... how important were the height and weight of the donor for you? For eg my donor is a very petite woman...under 50 kgs I think...( all the girls in Ukraine are) and I am a size 14 to 16 girl.. then she is shorter than me too.... I really do not think you can match a lot of things... honestly I just want a healthy baby I know.... but want to be double sure of my choices by asking thhe experienced girls...

Blondeinbrisvegas how are you hun? I really want to thank you for referring me to the greay Wazza.. What a man he is ! Though we did not do ivf with him.....Had we not met him on your advice, we would have still not been able to make our decision about surrogace and DE... and also kudos for keeping up this thread live and active... hope you dd is doing good too xoxo

Hey Sue, with finding a local donor that stuff isnt really something you have much say in, although I guess you could decide against someone if you thought you didn't gel with their appearance, i don't know. You can do that but your options arent like going O/S I guess. DH and I talked about this recently and I guess with our donor we are lucky in that she is a similar build to me although has different looks and hair colour but she's got fair skin like me etc. Because we gelled with her on so many levels there really wasn't anything to make us feel like the connection wasn't right. If she was really tall with really dark hair and features (so the opposite to me) then maybe we would have felt a little weird about it, I really don't know because we aren't in that situation. We were more concerned with medical history, including mental health and I suppose just the general personality of her because you do have a unique and very personal experience together. Also because she will be in the child's life in a small way (or maybe larger if thats what develops) then its just so important to feel a trust and connection there on a friendship level, so the looks thing is really the last concern if at all. With O/S though you can pick someone out with your favourable looks because you have a choice of people and you are not going by personality or connection stuff.

    HTH

    and thanks for the FX
