    Default Progesterone pessaries

    Hi Ladies,

Asking for a friend, she's about 5-6 weeks pregnant and has a few health/fertility type issues and pregnancy bleeding that's seen her be put onto progesterone pessaries....she took her first one today and said it was felt like she'd been tranquilised or something, is that normal?

Also, is there a reason they are only supposed to be taken at night?

    Many thanks
    Kat

I've certainly never felt 'tranquilised' with them. I've also never heard that they have to be taken at night but it is simpler that way as its good to lay down for a while after inserting them, while they dissolve. Otherwise, they tend to leak back out a bit.

You can insert them up the back passage then you don't need to lie down for leaking issues.

Never noticed a tranquillised feeling. My vag got very very angry though and that's why I opted for alternatives (FS said its fine)

I never felt tranquillised either & I had to use them 3x a day. Never got told to lie down after inserting. The FS nurse just told me how to insert, where to insert, when to insert & that they were messy.
