    Default PGD cost?

Hello all. Just wondering if anyone could let me know if they have had PGD done, and how much it cost? I know it would probably vary with clinic, and what they are testing for, but some idea would be great.

    Thanks in advance ☺

At Monash in Vic it costs somewhere around $700 per embryo but if you have lots of embryos then they cap the cost at around $3500. Given that 50% of embryos will be abnormal I think it is well worth the cost. It may save you money in the long run and may save heartache too. Unfortunately we have had a couple of inconclusive results and we had to pay to have them retested again which was disappointing. I thought we might have been given a discount but it actually cost a little bit extra because we also had to pay a thawing fee.

$750 at genea, capped at $3500. Best decision we made! Takes away so much of the stress once you do fall pregnant.

Ours was $5000 for any number of eggs. We were based in Perth and a cell from each egg was sent to Melbourne for testing. We did 2 rounds of IVF and got 10 blastocysts to test.

Best money ever spent, 4 came back "normal".

Thank you ☺ Do you mind telling me what you were testing for? Feel free not to respond if it's too personal.

We had so many failed transfers without an explanation. No known reason why it kept failing. It was our final straw before we gave up. No we have 2 babies!

We kept losing babies. Just wanted to rule out as many possible causes as we could.

So the testing was for chromosomal abnormalities, not for a particular gene?
