    Default Lump on DS's neck

I just happened to feel this odd little lump on my ds's neck. It's under the skin, about the size of a 5cent piece and it moves around. I don't think it's a gland as it's a few cm's below his ear.

I'm freaking out, I've made an appointment for tomorrow with the GP and willing myself not to google. Help me not Google!

He may have another tiny one on the other side... Keep me sane ladies!

It's really normal for kids to have palpable lymph nodes in their neck and this sounds exactly like a lymph node. Of course take him along to the docs just to be on the safe side but the really worrying lumps and bumps in this area present quite differently from what you've just described. No freaking out necessary

Thank you. His nose has just started running in the last 5 mins, hoping it is just a gland fighting off a virus.

Very likely. No harm in having him checked though and the doc can have a look in his ears to make sure there's no infection at the same time.

Yes, will do. I googled! What is wrong with me?!? Thanks for the link. It's in just such an odd spot. I'm going to step away from Google and see what the dr says tomorrow.

My glands swell up half way down my neck (at the sides) when I've got a virus, feels like a kidney bean under the skin.

And my doc always says that if they're mobile, they're much less likely to be anything scary.

Yes, he's pretty happy and his usual self, just gets frustrated with his runny nose. Now to keep him from his little sister (pfft)
