More helpful? The best advice I've had was to not put "me" and "life" on hold. What if you're still not pregnant in a couple years? How will that regret feel?
..We just booked our European adventure. IF (such a big IF, this TTC journey is so unpredictable) we're pregnant at that point, we've decided to worry about it then. Feels good. If my dream job came up now? I'd jump at it. I think being happy will help bubs come to us... and that's our priority.
Thanks MUG yeah I already accepted the job of course that is an amazing opportunity! That was an easy decision
My dilemma is more about waiting 3-4 months before starting ttc again... I'm scared that if I fall pregnant next month I'll lose the job when I go on maternity leave (because you can only go on maternity leave after 12 months working for the company) ...
I don't want to put ttc on hold but I don't want to loose this job in the future if I fall pregnant in the next three months ... I would really like to have a job to go back to after bub lol ... My hubby says: what if the next three months are our only chance to conceive? I think he's a little bit dramatic.

We actually did put TTC on hold this time until I had been at my job for 4 months to ensure I could get maternity leave and still have a job to go back to. I personally really regret it and wish we'd started TTC sooner. Having said that my job is not a dream job by any stretch, but is pretty good money for what it is.
I've also experienced the other side. With my son I got pregnant by accident, and had only been at my job 10.5 months when I stopped working so I had to resign. It was a bit upsetting just the unfairness of it, but we were fine and it all worked out ok. Again that wasn't a dream job either though.

Sorry for lack of updates, but been really busy. I tested back on 12th BFN, and was 5 days late for AF then. AF still hasn't shown up so PCOS rearing its ugly head again. It was fine for first cycle after going off the pill but hasn't shown up again since. I went back to the doctor and cos my PCOS was diagnosed 2 years ago I have to go for more blood tests and another ultrasound to see what's going on and then we will decide what we're doing based on those results.

Thanks for sharing your experience 😊 yeah I don't want to regret my decision of waiting but i want the security .. ! Unfair rules.. I still have 4 days before AF so maybe there won't be any dilemma if I'm pregnant ! (I doubt it) ... I'm starting the position in a week time so I might just take it day by day and see if the job is as good as I think..thanks for listening ladies 💜

If it were me I would probably put off TTC in order to take the job, guarantee PPL and set myself up in readiness for TTC next year. At the end of the day only you can decide and it depends how strong that need for a baby is. I had my first at 34 and focused on my career prior to and I don't regret it. By having the career first we were financially ready and I have proven myself to my employer which made it easier for a flexible work arrangement when I returned after having DS.
    Good luck x

    Hi Balloune
Sorry for butting in but I work in HR and manage Mat leave for my organisation

Dependent on who ur working for and what kind of leave u want to take, even if u haven't been at the organisation for 12 months, if it is a permanent position they have to allow u to have at least 12 months may leave (unpaid).
If your organisation is one that provides paid leave than yes u'll need to be there at least 3-4 months before conceiving to qualify for paid.

I'm currently in a similar situation - hating my job but we have been ttc for almost 12 months and I would prefer to follow that dream first
Also I realised as my current employer gives paid mat leave if I was to leave and get BFP straight away - it's about $14-15k we would be missing out on.
My goal is to get BFP by the end of the year and look for a new job after Bub.
