I'm guessing there's going to be ALOT of page refreshing going on today!! Sorry if I got abit too excited this morning @Charlie74. I just want it so much for you. I wonder if you'll get the call around 12.30pm. If they hadn't called by 1pm I used to call them. Clearly I'm useless at waiting! Huge supportive hugs, .
Ok, I'd best take a BH break and take Mischief for his first haircut. The staff will earn every single cent. I've no idea how they're going to restrain this wriggly furry eel!!
Fruck!! I've just been to the bathroom and I'm bleeding. Noooo!!! This too early. Gotta dash...
skeeter, we're not ready to give up after only 2 cycles (especially since one was a bfp although I did m/c, and the other a completely new protocol). We're going to try one or two more cycles before xmas and then we're done! Can I ask how old you are and what medications you were on? I'm 42 so I think Fs is basing everything on my age.
Green lady might have mentioned it, she had good egg hauls so the chance of finding one that was normal was better than someone like me who had piddly numbers. A lot of our eggs at age 42 are chromosomally abnormal so the odds arent great. Having said that its your decision when you feel like you've pushed it hard enough you will know, trust me on that. I never thought I would give up but I got more and more comfortable with the thought of donor eggs so here I am about to embark on that journey. In all honesty Im not so sure the different protocols make too big a difference, when I look over my 11 cycles I had different numbers every time. I did do mostly antagonist cycles, 1 down reg and 1 Elonva and the numbers varied. BUT its not your initial egg numbers that count, its the number of good embryos you get from them. My egg numbers at best were 6 and 5 but mostly they were 3 and then 2 and 1. But I usually always got 1 blast from those, except twice I got 2 and had one to freeze.
Good luck with it, keep trying until you are satisfied that you've given it everything you can. It really is a personal thing and only you can decide when to stop.
