Default Hairdressers.. Tell me which hair straightener to buy

Ok so I know it's either gonna be a ghd or cloud 9..

My question is what width to get

    I have medium/long hair
My hair is pretty straight anyway, if mostly be using it to straighten it perfectly (for a night out) or or curl it.

My hairdresser said to get a medium width one, to get the waves I want but I can't tell off the ghd website what is narrow/medium/wide.

Currently have a babyliss but time to upgrade, it's past its used by date and I do want to learn how to do trendy waves in my hair.

    TIA

I've heard that cloud 9 are better than the new ghd's as the person that created ghd's left, created cloud 9 & took all the technology with him.

Nearly all of the GHDs are "medium", it it will say mini or max otherwise

I'm not a hairdresser but did a lot of research before buying mine because I was deciding between the GHD and cloud 9. You can't go wrong with a GHD platinum. I have super thick hair and I use it to straighten and curl mine, does the job perfectly.

I've heard similar. My sister has a cloud 9 and it's fantastic. I have one of the original GHDs (about 10 years old!) which is good, but the cloud 9 is heaps better. Another option that my hairdresser uses is Muk which straightens really well.

Awesome, this is what I was wondering. Thanks. Was looking at the platinum actually.

I'll look into it. It's a lot of money to hand over, particularly when my hair is very straight as is. I don't want to get something that isn't super great.

I recently bought a new straightener - I got a brand I'd never heard of called S.A.S. It has heaps of great reviews (so many that I doubted the authenticity of the reviews), but I took the plunge and bought one. It's excellent!

It has comparable technology and features to the ghd and cloud 9 and has a 2 year warranty.

Otherwise, my hairdresser says Cloud 9 all the way (if you can afford it). She also said the Silver Bullet is another good option (they use them in the salon).

I've read a few times (from different sources) that the new ghd's aren't as great as the older ones, not sure if that's true though.

I asked my hairdresser the same question because my GHD is getting quite old now.

She recommended to stay away from the new GHDs and go for a Cloud 9 or Glampalm.
