Default White lies you tell your kids

I feel like a mean mummy but last night DH and I were enjoying some ice cream and DS1 comes out of his room to say he wants a mummy cuddle.. We tried to sneakily hide the ice cream from sight (boys aren't allowed ice cream or sugar, only on very rare occasions) and he says "I smell something yummy! What is that?" And I said its chocolate flavoured coffee haha! He fell for it but he still wanted to try it and I said he isn't allowed to eat anything after brushing teeth. Anyway. He went back to sleep without a fuss but I feel bad for lying to him.

What white lies do you tell your kids?

Well what used to work is that we have no ice cream etc left and we would need to get some later..... Now dd1 checks the cupboard and freezer lol

Dd1 went through a stage of always asking for medicine so I started giving her a placebo instead

    Oh and maccas/KFC is closed

I honestly don't feel bad it's not worth the tears/tantrums by just saying no lol

Oh and last night I said it was nighttime/bedtime at 530pm (closed the curtains) and both girls were asleep by 6pm!!! I do that on occasion when they are tired and feral. They both slept in till after 6am!!! Usually they are up around 5am.

I also say my phone/iPad is flat and needs to charge

lol I couldn't do that, I'd feel like a hypocrite banning my kid from something that I eat on the down low.

I often tell DS that the rides in the shopping centers are broken. I'm not coughing up $2 every 50 meters! I let him play on them but hardly ever put money in.

OMG this is such a good idea! Hahah although my ds1 sometimes asks to look at the time lol I'll have to manually adjust the clock.

Hahha exactly! The only sugar we ever have in our house regularly is dark chocolate, and we hardly eat that either.

I've never consumed so much ice cream in my life! Only when kids are sleeping though. Lol!! #mummyguilt

Mine still have no idea you can actually put money in and they do something! Dd1 thinks you just climb on them. I've warned my family to never put money in!!!
