I didnt have a baby shower i was too scared of something going wrong and didnt post about my pregnancy until after she was born. I refused to buy anything until i was about 30 weeks.
Lol, i was reading some post on facebook about how mums in denmark or finland or somewhere get a cardboard box with baby stuff from the government and that it was traditional for newborns to sleep in the box for the first few nights (something to do with the depression era or war years or something. ) So im thinking, if i need to, I'll just get a sturdy cardboard box at about 36 weeks and she'll be all good mate. Nursery-sorted. And if it doesnt work out, I'll give the box to the cats.
And despite all my bravado about not counting my chickens before theyve hatched, i have a cane bassinet from 7 years ago when my mother made me store all my sister's baby stuff because i have a bigger house and i chucked a mad spaz attack and refused to give it back coz my cat gorgeousgeorge had started using it as her bed. I totally went psycho and just bought my sister a brand new basssinet so i could keep the cane one. And i have a packet of sparklers and party poppers stashed in the back of the cupboard for when i see 2 pink lines. And ive got a black onsie with the guns n roses appetite for destruction album cover on the front which i bought after my first et coz it was the coolest onsie ive ever seen. So, hope never dies, i suppose ;-)

PS: The first game I can think of is creating a dart board out of a pictures of particular FS faces or wads of cash or BFN pics and throwing unused syringes instead of darts.

Maybe it will come after your last Pregnyl booster @Maxwellsmum...in about 5 days time? Personally I hope you stay all Zen like. You've worked bloody hard for it.

I panicked when I realised I only have 10 Endone left! I think I'll stay on 2 x 6 hourly tomorrow then drop down to 1 x 6 hourly to stretch them out on Tuesday. Ta for asking after me. This surgery was only meant to be a small look. Nothing was showing up on the ultrasound. So it's knocked me for 6 really. Thankfully Mischief on Four Furry Legs is with my Sis and DS is spending as much time with his Dad as possible. No driving for up to 2wks either.
Thanks @Calypso for your offer of practical help. I've just remembered! I think we should organise another Melbourne Girls catch up soon.

Hallo everyone finally got to the end of the thread and can post something!

Interesting discussions today and can see both sides of the picture regarding egg donor, it is a really tricky subject on whether to be open with everyone or keep it private. I also agree that by being open it brings awareness to others on what is possible in fertility treatments. I too had no idea there were so many people using egg donor and it really is tricky navigating your way through finding one. So tricky that I'm lost in this regard, I am on a donor embryo list but finding a private donor is in the too hard basket. I admire all you ladies who are following this path, it is certainly one of tenacity and courage. Back to whether I would be open or private if I got pregnant with donor embryo I really don't know, my only concern would be I wouldn't want my child feeling any different to other kids, I don't care what society thinks of me personally but this is of course only my opinion.

I love the fact that there are so many sensitive thoughtful women on this thread that are bearing in mind others feelings that are still on the infertility train and not oversharing in their success. I too am very aware of my audience when conversing and it really pays to be sensitive of others situations. I have many friends who tend to forget there infertility pain and throw their pregnancies in your face and monopolise conversations in a group situation around their pregnancies/newborn making you feel tortured, now I have to be mindful of who is coming out in group get togethers with friends and decline if I know they are attending.
