A bit of a fluff thread but I think I'll find the answers valuable to my parenting. So, how often do you?

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone? We've not long ago enforced some rules because our 8 year old was sneaking onto YouTube every second he could to watch mine craft stuff (we've only got one iPad which is technically mine) so the rule is now they can take a turn on Saturday & Sunday (there's three of them to take a turn but usually only 8&6 yr olds do) once all their jobs are done. The 'job' list is a mile long but their jobs are stuff like 'played outside for 30 mins, helped mum or dad with a job, read a book for 30 mins' that sort of stuff. It's working really well and he is appreciating his time more and not so obsessed.

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
yes. Love the sunny weather so we can walk up to the park. Usually go every weekend and check out new ones around town and I walk up with the little two (9 months & 3yrs) at least twice a week.

    3. Have take away as a family?
    basically never.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
    about once a month.

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
havent since baby was born 9 months ago, easily be over a year ago.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
He is away a lot for work so doesn't go out very often, perhaps once a month??

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
    Never!!

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
    never!!

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
as much as I can. I'm not really one to play with my kids (that sounds awful!!), I'd rather they played together/independently. My kids all play together for the most part beautifully and I can sit and read and sort of supervise.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
Me 99% just because I'm really super fussy about hygiene and I swear he was raised by wolves LOL

And 11. How old are your kids? 8, 6, 3 years and 9 months.

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
My kids don't ever get our phones...tablet/computer...depends on the child, but i avoid it as much as possible. They are not on a device every day or anything like that.

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
We've been twice this week...my kids don't really play on equipment anymore, so it's more for a neighbourhood game of soccer type event these days. The kids tend to just go from one house/yard to another - 80's style! On a nice day they basically don't come inside!

    3. Have take away as a family?
DH and I have a nice takeaway (Thai/Indian etc) once a week. The kids get pizza about from our local pizza joint (not domino's etc) once a month maybe. We don't ever eat fast food like McDonald's etc.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
Just us, never! We only go if we're invited for someone's birthday etc. It's a good $80-$100 to go out as a family for a meal, and we can't justify that on a regular basis.

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
Hard to say...I'm a shift worker who often works weekends, which means I have time off during the week. All my kids are at school, so I have ample alone time, therefore I don't really pay much attention to exactly how much it is.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
He is out every night Mon-Thurs for various events...Thurs nights is exercise/social. Then about once a month he'll have a social event of an evening.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
    Every 12-18 months

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
Aiming for once a year now they're older.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
Even when my kids are around they're more interested in their friends than me these days.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
It's about 60/40. - Me 60%, DH 40%. But some weeks he'll cook more. Depends on my shifts.

And 11. How old are your kids?
My kids are all school age. MY answers would have been very different when I had babies/toddlers/pre-schoolers.

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?

Me 100% of the time. We would starve to death waiting for him to cook.

And 11. How old are your kids?

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
Rarely. Usually only when she needs to sit still for a long time (plane, haircut etc.)

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
Not sure. Maybe 2-4 times a month on average.

    3. Have take away as a family?
Once every couple of months - takeaway at home. Out places, maybe once every week or 2 on average.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
    Every few months?

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
Maybe once a month. Usually to a friend's place.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
    Not really. Only when working.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends? I
    Never

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
    Never

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves.
I try to all the time :P Most days I probably manage for 5 or 10 minutes.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
Depends on the week. I work evenings, so he cooks whenever I'm working. Also depends on what we're cooking. It varies from a 80/20 split one way to a 80/20 split the other way.

And 11. How old are your kids?
    Nearly 4 and 14 months

    Default How often do you...?

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone? Only when we are traveling, at specialist appointments or for school related homework. They all have an iPad but have no interest in them anymore but DD1&2 will often jump on the computer and make power point presentations for absolutely no reason lol or look up random facts.

    2. Take your kids to the playground? 3+ times a week

    3. Have take away as a family? Once a week

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family? Once a week

    5. Go out by yourself with friends? Haha never (once every few months)

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends? He works away a bit so out with his mates whilst away. He'll occasionally go out with the boys once every few months

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends? Happened twice in the last 10 years and only for 2 days tops

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids? Never

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves - a lot. My girls are constantly entertaining themselves so I feel like a have a fair bit of free time when I'm not cooking, cleaning, doing homework etc

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half? 50/50

And 11. How old are your kids? 9,7,6&4
