    Default How often do you...?

A bit of a fluff thread but I think I'll find the answers valuable to my parenting. So, how often do you?

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?

    2. Take your kids to the playground?

    3. Have take away as a family?

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?

And 11. How old are your kids?

    1. He can play on my phone when I'm doing groceries or in the morning if I'm not quite ready to get out of bed.

    2. Most days, if not the playground an equivalent kid centred activity.

    3. I'd say once a week on average

    4. Once a fortnight maybe? I go for breakky with a friend and our boys before play group every Friday though.

    5. Hardly ever. Maybe once every 4-6 months? We usually catch up with kids.

    6. Yes, probably 1-2 times a month.

    7. I went away with 2 friends in June for the first time since having DS. So rarely! Once a year maybe (we plan to make it an annual trip).

    8. Never have...

    9. Daily. Might be in ten minute bursts but he is fairly good at entertaining himself while I read a book or sew something.

    10. It's about 50/50 these days. We usually eat at mums once a week and MILs once a week... Then there's one day where we fend for ourselves (mil feeds DS). The other 4 days just depends who is working etc.

    11. DS is 3 in November. I'm due with number 2 in October.

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone? Rarely. Ds comes to work with me on a Tuesday morning for half n hour. He gets to use the pad then. Otherwise, when we are out and I need to occupy them.

    2. Take your kids to the playground? Once or twice a month 🙊

    3. Have take away as a family? Once a week.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family? Never! Dh can't handle it. We only go if it's a special occasion.

    5. Go out by yourself with friends? Usually only once every 6-12mths! 3 times in the last month however 😊

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends? On average 4-5 times a month. When he goes out it's to either ride his dirt bike or attend a car event. He rarely goes out drinking/partying etc.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends? Never.

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids? Never. We are going for 2 nights away at the end of this month though.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves? Probably too often.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half? 50/50.

And 11. How old are your kids? 5yrs at the end of the month and 2.5yrs.

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
Whenever dd1 wants to. We haven't felt the need to limit it yet, she is on it a lot but not for long periods before moving on to wanting my attention instead lol. She does spend an hour on there during "quiet time" so I can rest when dd2 has her lunchtime nap.

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
I've only done it once since having dd2 (9 months) . Since she's not mobile yet it's too hard with the pair. Dd1 is not very outdoorsy, she's a girly girl and tbh doesn't really enjoy parks/playgrounds.

    3. Have take away as a family?
3 times a week for lunch when we are out. 1-2 times for dinner.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
Once in a blue moon for lunch. Never for dinner as girls go to bed really early (early risers up around 5am).

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
Once every few months at best.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
    Every second weekend.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
Never. Even pre kids I have never left dh.

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
Not as yet planning a trip for 5 days to cairns in 2018.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
If I'm lucky I can grab 5 minutes here and there to surf net or read a paper but it's rare.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
I cook dinner. If it's a BBQ dh will do meat and I'll do indoor cook/prep.

And 11. How old are your kids?
    Dd1 3.5
    Dd2 9 months

    Ps glad you're back!!!

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone? Every day, normally when I'm cooking dinner. But, DD1 loses her iPad if her attitude stinks.

    2. Take your kids to the playground? Twice a week, more once the weather gets nice and we walk straight from school then normally do a picnic or late afternoon play on a sunday

    3. Have take away as a family? Once a fortnight maybe? Normally when I've just had enough of 2 kids complaining about my food and I'm fed up haha

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family? We get a coffee together at least once a week and the kids have a hot chocolate/baby cino

    5. Go out by yourself with friends? Not enough. At the moment, once every 6 months?

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends? Once a week for sport but that doesn't really count

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends? Never

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids? Never, but only because we can't afford it at the moment ha! Last one was 6 years ago maybe

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves - I'll try and do this on the weekend for a couple of hours while the kids watch a movie

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half? I cook everynight, but I love it

And 11. How old are your kids? 7&3

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
Never. Yet. She's too little to know how to use it. But I will have the tablet geared up with some kids tv to distract her if I take her on the plane by myself!

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
Not enough. But again she's too little for playgrounds really. I do take her out on her trike at least twice a week though. And we do gymbaroo each week which has play equipment suitable for her age. DH tries to take her to the park once a week too.

    3. Have take away as a family?
    Once a week. Friday night.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family
    1-2 times a month.

    5. Go out by yourself with friends
Never. Got no friends! But even if I did it would be rare as I'm either ridiculously busy or tired. Or want to hang out with DH.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
Occasionally. He plays sport every weekend though so gets time out that way.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
Never. Not interested. I've always preferred to use my holiday time and money going places with DH.

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
Never. And not something we plan on doing in the future either. DD goes everywhere with us.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
I take a few minutes a few times each day where I can to go online and read the newspaper, go on bubhub etc while DD creates a mess lol.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
Hmmmm. He rarely ever cooks. But generally it's a case of one sorts out DD one cooks and by the end of the day I want a break from DD so I happily cook! He does do a bit in the kitchen but rare he cooks a full meal. I don't mind. I like cooking and enjoy my own cooking! Thankfully if it was a problem he would happily step up and cook.

And 11. How old are your kids?[/QUOTE]

    Just DD. She's 13 months

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
He doesn't have his own so maybe once a month if he comes to the office or we do take our iPad on flights

    2. Take your kids to the playground? Every Tuesday afternoon after school and most weekends ( or if not playground a bike ride)

    3. Have take away as a family? We don't normally take food away to eat at home ( that means I still need to wash up!) but we have good local restaurants/pubs and cafes that's an easy walk from home or next door to the office so it's nicer to walk up and eat there - usually once a week for dinner and breakfast

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family? As a family usually Friday nights and Sunday breakfast and for family birthdays

    5. Go out by yourself with friends? Once a month - usually movie/shopping

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends? Once a month

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends? I haven't since having DS but wouldn't say no!

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids? I haven't since DS but have had a night/weekend away maybe once a year

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves - every afternoon at this time and before bed

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half? DH cooks breakfast a few times a year ( pancakes) and mans the BBQ if we have people over but I'm too much of a control freak/foodie to let him cook!

A bit of a fluff thread but I think I'll find the answers valuable to my parenting. So, how often do you?

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
Only on very very rare occasions. So fewer than once a month.

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
We only have one playground that's not so great in town but we have a communal area that has swings and we go there a couple of times a week. Nearly daily in summer.

    3. Have take away as a family?
Once a fortnight when we are in town as it's just something quickly eaten in the car on the way home.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
    Nevertheless

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
    Never.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends? Once a fortnight maybe.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
    Nevertheless

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
    Never.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
I might browse the net while cooking dinner or whatever but other than that it's usually once kids are in bed.

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
I cook mostly. Maybe about a 80:20 split

And 11. How old are your kids?
    6, 4, 3 and 2

    1. Let your kids use the iPad / iPhone / tablet / smart phone?
    Every day. For too long

    2. Take your kids to the playground?
Maybe once a fortnight or so. With school, daycare and weekend activities we have plenty to do

    3. Have take away as a family?
Rarely. Maybe once every 2 months.

    4. Go to cafes / restaurants as a family?
Rarely, maybe once every 3-4 months, but we recently decided to make a weekend brunch happen at least once a month.

    5. Go out by yourself with friends?
Hardly ever. My two closest friends moved away. Maybe once every 6-12 months.

    6. Does your Other Half go out by themselves / friends?
Once every couple of months. It varies though.

    7. Go on holidays by yourself / with friends?
I've never done that. I'm taking my first trip alone up to Darwin for 4 nights in November to catch up with a friend.

    8. Go on holiday with your other half And leave the kids?
Holiday? Never. But we go for weekends away fairly regularly.

    9. Sit and read a book / surf the web / do a hobby at home while your kids entertain themselves
See the first point about the iPad.... (more than I care to admit)

    10. Cook dinner vs your other half?
I cook every weeknight, DH cooks on weekends.

And 11. How old are your kids?
    4 and 6
