Maybe you should step back from the threads then.

From all the OP'd posts her DS is happy and healthy. He goes to school. He eats. He sleeps. She looks after him and his needs first.

Also why would DHS take her son away if he is happy, healthy and unharmed? They are there to help support families and will only remove children if they are in danger.

There are times when there are dishes piled up in my kitchen. And there are barely clean clothes. Does that mean that I am a bad mother?

In this situation her mother is supposed to look after her son's wellbeing while she is unable to - which is after treatment. So technically her mother is neglecting her grandson - it is not her.

OP - what is your son's current 'currency'? The reason I ask is because I know he won't just help himself to food but maybe he kight make something you prepared if you tell him he needs to eat before he gets to play/do x.

Also hugs. Congrats for your son's scholarship!

Surely if you can type a response to a post you can google the effects of severe depression and mental illness?

I have been reading along since the beginning, so I'm not voicing this from one thread.

It's not just ice cream one night, though. I'm sure the majority of us have slack dinners some nights. The OP can't prepare a basic meal in advance for her child. Plus the myriad of things she has previously posted.

I think people are just trying to help by suggesting other options given it's clear your mother won't cook. Given he can't make anything for himself bc he's immature and has broken fingers, you can't make something small, and you say you can't make or plan ahead I'm not sure what the answer is.

What do you normally serve for dinner on the other nights you don't have treatment?

@pointless1, clearly you are having an incredibly sh1tty time atm. Depression sucks, and for those that have never suffered from it are very lucky indeed. I agree with Vicpark that you appear to be getting some clarity with your posts, so go you *high 5*. I do feel for your son, as does everyone here. He sounds like such an amazing kid. It does seem like your mum is causing more harm than good so i do hope you can seek help from somewhere else. Hang in there hun x
