    Vik.torija would be European spelling. Most likely Croatian/Serbian. The k is always in place of the c and j makes a y sound.

    Fair enough... But I'm not European either. DP is and my children have Serbian names.

    But trust me that spelling is 100% Serbian/Croatian.

    Perhaps she liked it and borrowed it after seeing it through a friend or relative?

    There's a child at my daughter's day-care called Mencia. I just think of MENSA, and unless she turns out to be really, really smart, it seems an unfortunate name.
