Based on the OP's history asking questions for 'a friend', I would guess that the OP is the nanny. I would also guess that on the days the parents care for their child, they are using the pat method themselves to get their child to sleep in it's own bed, and they want the nanny to follow through consistently by using the same method that they themselves are using. I would guess that the nanny may be kicking up a stink because she doesn't want to do the hard yards, she would rather rock the baby in the pram because it's easier.

Of course, this is all only a guess

I agree, @sylvia1111 it would be helpful to many of us if you provided some context to your background for us to help you (not just with this thread). There is another post by you today about a child not sleeping at childcare. You have been a member for some time and often make very detailed threads asking help for 'a friend'.
Do you have kids yourself that you are asking about or grandkids perhaps? Do you work in the childcare field? Are you researching different scenarios? I'm trying not to be nosy but it would be nice to know a bit more about you to help you from different angles

Is it just me, because I am struggling to work out what the OP is even trying to say/ask?! Not sure if it's just the absence of punctuation, but I'm really confused.
