Default Routine for 2 naps a day?

My 9 month old dd2 was doing fantastic and we had a nice routine going but the past couple of weeks she's only napped 40 minutes for the 1st nap. I've left her to resettle but she simply won't. It's not the end of the world but throws everything out. And she's so grizzly from 4pm as she's so tired. So I'm trying to tweek it but no success.

She typically naps 1.5 hours for 2nd nap and sleeps 10.5 hours at night, with the rare wake up for a feed.

What are other babies doing and your routine?

Eta: both my girls are early to bed early to rise which I'm ok with (most days lol)

You know all about our sleep journey lol

he he is doing a little catnap in the car coming home from school for about 15-20mins at 9.30ish which is enough to happily get him through until 12.45 for a big sleep. I wake him at 3.30 if he's not awake (usually isn't) and bed at 7. Wake at 6.40/7, some days I wake him at 7 because he is still asleep. No night feeds usually unless he is out of sorts.

This is is working great for us right now x

Thanks @MrsIsMe glad things are good!!!!
Never had a 12 hour sleeper with either girls lol. Going by the book 10.5 hours at night is acceptable. As she's up so damn early (530am is a sleep in) she's grizzly from 730 and dying for a nap.

    5 months here.
As a newborn she would sleep all day.
Then from 8-11 weeks it was cat naps.
Then it was 3 naps of 45 mins a day and down at 7pm.

Now it's bed at 6,30pm, waking every 12-25 mins all night. Day is 30m max nap twice.

5m here also. since his sleep regression last month, he's now doing (on average, some days are crappier than others) 2-3 naps per day. usually 1.5 hours, although I've had a bit over 2 once and sometimes as little as 45 mins. bedtime is 6-6:30pm and he's now waking once in the night for a feed (usually around 3-4am). between bedtime and the 3/4am feed, he wakes around 10pm for his final bottle for the day.

I'm pretty happy with this current routine although I fully expect it to fall to poo at any point.

Hugs DT75. If it's any consolation it sounds similar to what dd2 was doing at 5 months too. Fantastic as a newborn then at 9 weeks had turned to crap. Things started improving (mind you with a bit of tough love) by 6 months so fingers crossed your bubs will too! It's so hard isn't it? I feel like such a whinger when I would of killed for what I have right now a few months ago lol

Hey LMS my DD was on this routine for ages which worked well
2.5hrs wake time, 3hrs wake time, 3-3.5hrs wake time
    So for us it was
    7-7:30 wake
    10-11:30 nap
    2:30-4 nap
    7-7:30 bed
But if she only sleeps 10.5hrs at night I'm not sure how this would work. My DD does 11-12hrs so you need to find another hour of awake time.
I'd definitely be pushing the first nap back to at least 8am if not 8:30 hopefully sleepstil 10am then next nap around 2 til 3:30 and bed at 7.
My DD is 13 months now and does 3hr awake then 3-3.5 then 3.5-4 and her 2 naps total about 3hrs in the day. It's still working great so I'm resisting going to 1 nap as long as I can!!

Default Routine for 2 naps a day?

Thanks @gingermillie that's super helpful. I am following the 2.5/3/3.5 hour routine and it WAS working great. (Extra hour awake was before bed time).

    It was
    530 wake
    8-930 nap
    1230-2 nap
    6/630 bed

    Now it's 5ish wake
    8-840 nap
    12ish bed (depending on fussiness)
    Up around 130
6ish bed (again depending how grizzly she is)

It seems to be a vicious cycle of going to bed overtired/waking early/trying to stretch her to her first nap/waking early from nap so she's overtired and I'm not sure how to snap out of it.

    Thanks hun.
I have always been a 'just get on with it' person... but I have physically, mentally and emotionally reached the end of my rope. Am seeing a psych and gp today to hopefully get some help.
If not, H is paying for a nanny whether he wants to or not.

Sounds like maybe she needs a little more awake time before her first nap? I was having trouble with my DS, first he was really ill then once better we were struggling to settle back into a 'normal' routine. This week I've tried a little longer awake time and it seems to be helping. He is just over 8 months and our routine looks roughly like this (changes by up to an hour depending on when he wakes up so I've written down what he did yesterday just as an example)

7am: wake, chatted in cot until 7.30
    7.30: up and had bottle
    8.30: breakfast
    9.45: sleep
    12.30: up from sleep
    1pm: lunch
    2.30pm: bottle
    3.20: sleep
    5.20: up from sleep
    6pm: dinner
    7.15: bath
    7.30: bottle then into bed
    11pm: dream feed

He woke once last night at 3.30 I think because he had lost his bunny but resettled without too much trouble then woke for the day this morning at 7.30.

I don't know if that helps you at all, my kids have always been late to bed and then sleep in a bit longer. I dread when they start school!
