Hi ladies, have any of you had a drop in progesterone? I'm 5weeks & had BETA done today, progesterone was 77 at 4 weeks & is now 33 at 5 weeks, I'm worried that the drop is so big it will keep dropping by next BETA there will be nothing left?? The clinic said they'd keep an eye on it but the next BT is a week away?? I know 33 is still a good number I'm just concerned about big drop??

@AmyEL my progesterone dropped I think from memory 16. It was around 70 at my initial beta then the 2nd one it dropped the 3rd was around the same. My FS said nothing to worry about but if I wanted to use 2x crinone a day which I did for a few weeks before my scan. Given yours has dropped so much though I'd check with your FS, in a week it might drop even more. I think they say between 25 & 30 is good but I'd double check with FS to make sure. Are you on pessaries or crinone? You might just need to up your dose.
Was yours a medicated cycle or a natural fet?

@hopefull29 thanks for that I actually rang the clinic back & queried it as I'm on no support, not since the last ovidrel booster on 22nd Sept... I did a low dose stim FET... anyway I wrote the number down wrong it was actually 43 (kids being noisy in background!) so not as bad but still quite a drop... I think I might get a sneaky test done in a few days just to ease my mind & check how it's going...

@AmyEL 43 sounds much better! it's so confusing how different all the clinics can be! I thought all IVF transfers were put on support up until some point depending on your FS preferences. I did a natural fet and was still put on crinone. I found out at my first scan I developed a corpus leutum cyst which also provides progesterone in early pregnancy but my FS still wanted me on crinone until 12 weeks. I'd get a sneaky test if I were you- better to put your mind at ease. When mine dropped I did lots of research into it and found that it seems very common for levels to fluctuate day to day so if it is a bit less don't stress.

@hopefull29 yes no support freaked me out... with my DS I was only on crinone till BFP but that was due to my progesterone being over 500 at that point... I just booked an appointment with GP for Thursday

I just went for an early dating scan as I asked my GP to check my HCG but she preferred to order a scan. I saw a heart beat! I took DD5 with me so it was really special, she's so excited. I'm measuring exactly as per my dates at 5+6 (6 weeks tomorrow!). I still go for a formal dating scan on the 17th with FS visit next Friday.
