Hey @Positivity I did IVF with donor sperm as well. I am 37, and in Perth. Sorry to hear about one of your twins, I am worried about that happening for me... My parents are here aaaaall the time They are retired, and are older. But I am grateful as it would be very difficult on my own with two. I wanted to have two, so was planning on starting TTC for the second not too long after, since it took me over a year to get pregnant. Now I don't know! I still want a second pregnancy, and I always wanted 3 kids, but figured two was enough by myself. I have 3 frozen, so I will see how I go once these are born.
@hopefull29 I think it's crazy that I've done two single and two double transfers, along with a cancelled transfer and got nothing but BFN and chemicals, and this time when the FS is telling me to move to donor eggs, not only do I get pregnant but both stick?? Madness... Sorry to hear you are still vomiting, I have luckily avoided that mostly.
@lotsathoughts Glad to hear you are okay and moving along with your next cycle. I always found that it helped me to be doing that, I struggled with the waiting. I have everything crossed for you...
@bubbles21 woah, that is some bloat! I feel bloated, but can't see anything. My trouble is a fat and saggy tummy leftover from when I lost weight, so it's impossible to see if I have a bump forming... I am another single one.
@jess8383 congratulations! That's great HCG! Mine was 167 at 13DPO and 1272 at 18DPO and everyone thought that was high... I am having twins
@Gypsy37 I would freak out too much if I couldn't hear the heartbeat... or only one heartbeat...

Pretty much everyone at work knows I am doing IVF by myself, but I haven't told them about the pregnancy yet. After two chems I wanted to make sure this one would last the distance... With people who don't really know me like the parents at work I was just planning on saying it's just me and the babies if they ask about a partner.

Met with my OB today for the first time. She is absolutely lovely. So caring and definitely put my mind at ease about a few things.
I'm a tad strange with doctors and get massive anxiety when I walk into their rooms. Lol I'm not sure what it is, but it's always happened. I think I panic they'll tell me something is wrong. Anyway she checked my blood pressure not long after I got there and needless to say it was sky high. But she did believe me when I said it's normally ok. She just asked me to check it at home a few times and write it down before I see her next.
Got another look at bubs which was awesome. It's going to be a long 4 weeks until I see her again!
Also found out I'll be needing an anti d shot at 28 & 34 weeks.
She also wants me on calcium and fish oil along with the elevit I was already taking.

@hopefull29 Your OB sounds lovely! So glad you like her.
Great that you got to see bubs .
I'm also Rh neg so I'll also be having anti D. Had an early shot at 6wks as a precaution because of all my spotting but I think I'll still be having the 3rd tri shots.
Does your OB like all her patients on calcium, fish oil & elevit? I'm worried I should be taking more supplements than what I'm taking. Also, I'm losing weight when i should be gaining . Definitely got a bump but I'm worried bub isn't getting enough of the good stuff.
Anyway...going to see the OB tomorrow. It has been 4 LONG wks since my last visit. Hopefully everything is still going well .

@Muchulu1 thanks Hun. I have a dairy allergy hence the reason for the calcium. I don't normally take calcium sups as I eat plenty of other calcium rich foods, however as bubs will be taking so much calcium from me she said its best I take a supplement to make sure I'm not losing too much from my bones. The fish oil she said to take as I don't eat any fish just because I don't like it.
Oh and she also told me to take probiotics too.
What supplements are you currently taking?
I've put on 1kg already (13 weeks), she said to aim for no more than 10-12kg in total. I'm worried as my sister put on 20kg but I figure I'll just be more motivated to eat healthier. I eat pretty healthy anyway to be honest.
Enjoy your OB appointment tomorrow. Will be so nice to see bubs again!

Default IVF babies due March/April/May 2017

@skeeter thank you. Was yours a double transfer? I only had a single. I've read the chances of splitting with IVF is higher. I'd be interested to see what my HCG is now as I'm starting to feel queasy most of the time. Unfortunately no more routine bloods with my clinic but I'm thinking of going to my GP to get some more.

When I was pregnant with DD I hardly had any sickness, just slight morning queasiness that stopped as quick as it started. This time it's already worse than I was at any stage with her.

@jess8383 yes I had a double transfer. I had the sonographer check for triplets in case one split! My clinic did bloods tests up to 29DPO. At that point my HCG was 30,000. Luckily I have had a bit of queasiness but no vomiting.

@bubbles21 Didn't get a chance to call the clinic today but will try and do it this week to see I can reserve some extra vials for future use. I thought I read that you could reserve 2 vials, although this time it took 3 cycles with a new vial each time which could be problematic! Wish I had frosties!
@skeeter I think it would definitely be easier to have twins first and then a single baby second then the other way round! Keep you options open! You never know what will happen!
@hopefull29 Great to hear your appointment went well today. Good to know about the extra supplements. I am sensitive to dairy so don't eat a lot of it and also don't like fish so was thinking about taking some extras of those. At the moment I'm just taking the Blackmores pregnancy multi and a pregnancy probiotic as well as aspirin which I started on my second cycle. The OB did say my iron levels were borderline so have to start taking some extra iron as well because she said that had a tendency to just drop as pregnancy progresses.
@Muchulu1 Good luck for appointment tomorrow! 4 weeks seems so long! I'm dreading the time when the appointments become more spaced out!
@jess8383 when do you go for your first scan?

@Positivity the 17th is my formal scan but I see my FS on 14th who will more than likely scan me as well. I made a GP appointment for early next week though, hopefully I can convince her to order some more bloods

@hopefull29 ohh yay, so glad to see you've only put on 1kg at 13 wks too! I'm the same and have been so worried about not putting on more!!
@jess8383 yay, so cool to see you in here!! My Hcg was 731 at 11do5dt. And 1770 at 14dp. I think a semi or fully hatched blastie has a higher chance of splitting because it's already more developed once it's transferred! Mine was fully hatched but only one little bub in there!

Has anyone heard that morning sickness is more likely for boys? Something about the testosterone? Could be another old wives tale, there are a few of those! I have officially thrown up 4 times by 13+3, so great!!

I got my NT results yesterday from my GP. Everything looks great for bub, but apparently I'm in an at risk category for pre-eclampsia. They've recommended I take 150mg of aspirin daily from 16wks. My GP was pretty useless though! She's so lovely but wasn't able to explain any of the results and referred me to the hospital. I called the ultrasound place afterwards and they said that's a little extreme.

In other news, I got into the Midwifery Group Practice at the hospital, yay! Wondering if I should call the midwife to ask her advice on the pre-eclampsia thing?

Does anyone have experience with this/taking aspirin?

Default IVF babies due March/April/May 2017

@SurferGalGC I'm so excited to be here with you, I feel like you're my good luck thread buddy! Wow you had some awesome HCG levels! Part of me is hoping to see two in there but a huge part of me is terrified at the thought! The problem with HCG measurements is that there is such a huge range of what is normal and it varies so much from person to person!

Oh and yay for getting into MGP! I hate the thought that I may be cheering for the fact that someone may have miscarried to free up that spot though, hopefully they just changed their minds
