Default Parenting payment and Lodging tax return

Hi all, a quick question as I am confused, if your receiving a parenting payment do you need to do a tax return?

I believe with family tax it's sorted once the accountant does all the accounting and everything goes to the ATO

    TIA

It is taxable income so you might need to. You can check the ATO site which will tell you if you need to or not.
