Basically nearly every song that's been in the top 40 for the past 3 years

Is it just that I'm getting older or is the current generation of popular music mostly awful?!?

100% . I mean there is a breakthrough hit every now and then, but apart from that, it is so hard to understand what the song is actually about..

I think talent these days has been replaced by gals who think they need to get their kit off. Majority of film clips are just scantily clad chicks wailing something. Where's the talent? Adele and Pink are about the only ones who can hold a tune fully clothed.

I passionately detest many songs, especially top 40 crud.

One that comes to mind is that whiny-voiced guy who sings about "seven years old". God, makes me want to break something. I often seem to hear it when I'm in shops. Makes me want to abscond, pronto!

I also heard another rotten one in the general store this morning, I believe it's called 'Stressed Out'. Hideous. Couldn't pay for the milk and newspaper quick enough and had to hear 30 seconds of it.

I'm not a fan of Adele. I don't understand what the big deal is, all she sings about are lost loves.

I hate Madonnas song where she sings "don't play those stupid games because I'm a different kind of girl". So what, the rest of us deserve stupid games? And "l-u-v Madonna" firstly that's not how it's spelt, secondly don't sing about people should love you.

Yes that 7 years old song makes me want to punch the radio. Along with Beibers sorry.

Adele - not a huge fan but more respect to her after her carpool karaoke with James Corden.

That 7 years old song had me muting the radio whenever it came on at work, which seems to be all the freaking time.

As for Sorry, I like this version more... https://youtu.be/mphD90urEp4
but I am a closet fan of Sorry and Love Yourself
