Default Boxhill (public) v Mitcham or Knox (private)

    hi ladies,
does anyone have experience at box hill and or Knox and/or Mitcham private? Ultimately weighing up to see if the private fees are worth it? Options are
    private
box hill- know your midwife program
angliss- use a private OB as public patient

    any opinion is helpful!
    thanks

If you have private health insurance private is definitely worth the money. Small price to pay to know who is going to deliver your baby! You spend way more on buying baby things! If you don't have private health the hospital charges are huge so not really worth it then

I live near ringwood and ended up going to mercy hospital for women in Heidelberg which is public and i love it.. there was an article recently about hospitals with higher risk of still birth/deaths and box hill was on that list

Thanks yes I have private health. So maybe will look into the fees a bit more. I have heard some people have to pay out more in emergencies and that worried me.

So went to box hill. It was great! I had been tossing up the same and ended up going public. I'd do it again. My only complaint with being public was the appointments weren't very flexible. Towards the end of my pregnancy I had to go with only what they would offer but this was around all the public holidays in March/April.
