Default Ear ache but no infection.

    Hi.

I have been suffering from am ear ache for about 3/4 days thinking maybe an infection went to the doctors today my doctors had a look no infection a bit of wax build up but was ok he said the membranes looked fine.

Throat ,Teeth, jaw was fine I get a bit of a runny nose at night when the temp gets cold but that's it.

So have to go back Monday so he can swab my ears and send it off for testing (as that's closed today of course).

So has anyone else had this and what did it tell you?
my doctor just said to rule anything further make sure it's ok he put me on Pandene Forte for the pain and said it was useless for antibiotics as there is no infection.

I had this and got so fed up going round in circles with my GP that I went to an ENT specialist. He said I had eustacian tube dysfunction triggered by allergies. I now use Nasonex twice a day and have been told to purposely pop them using the valsalva method and it's a lot better.

I would request a referral to see an ENT specialist.

From my experience, GPs can be a little dismissive when it comes to ears.
