Default Newbie looking for IVF buddies

    Hey everyone!πŸ˜ƒ

I'm looking for any other ladies starting a round of IVF in the coming weeks.
My DF and I had our first appointment with the nurses at Genea on Thursday and are getting ready to start Progynova next week! We picked up all of the medication yesterday which was quite daunting given the amount there is!
I'm super excited but also nervous so am looking for others who are starting out as well who would like to share the journey. 😊😊😊

    Hey @Starr30
Im about to start my 1st round of ivf in the next few days!!
Picked up my medication n waiting for period which is due tomorrow! Im absolutely petrified of needles so my injections are going to be the hardest thing for me.
I have PCOS and other than that me and my partner have nothing else wrong.
Its quite frustrating because we have been trying for 3 years but its finally happening.
Only thing is we live in rural SA and our FS is in adelaide which is a 5 hour drive away which is hard but im nervous n excited to get started

    Hi @brib!

Nice to meet you 😊. I start my next cycle next Saturday and like you I'm petrified of needles! I think I'd prefer my DF to do it for me but he leaves for work super early every morning and at different times so it makes it hard.

Three years is definitely a long time and I can relate to the frustration as we have been trying for almost 2.5 years in which I've had 2 miscarriages in 2014, an ectopic in 2015 (treated with injection) then another ectopic this past June(treated with surgery) 😞. It's been a very long and draining process. My FS also believes the two earlier miscarriages were more than likely ectopic as well but it couldn't be confirmed on ultrasound and my body miscarried them naturally. We have no other problems it's just my "plumbing" unfortunately which is what brings us to IVF.

Wow! 5 hours to see your FS is quite a long trip but it will be so worth it all in the end when you get your little bundle 😊.

What meds are you taking if you don't mind me asking just to compare? I'm not looking forward to these emotional mood swings I've been warned about! My poor DF πŸ˜…

Ive started my period and start my FSH tomorrow night!! So scared for the injections ahhh
Im starting on puregon for FSH then orgalutran injections from day 6.. ive got my trigger shot here but my FS is worried i may overstimulate so if that happens ill have lucron as a trigger and they will freeze my eggs till my hormones are back normal.. my partner is doing my injections i cant even hold the needles without feeling weak!
Where are you from? How old? If you dont mind me asking.

Oh no you poor thing!! You did it though so well done!! That's what I'm scared of too, I hate needles!! 😬 Have you had any side effects as yet?

    My meds are as follows:
Proginova, Puregon, Orgalutran, Elonva, Ovidrel and Crinone.

I'm also doing acupuncture throughout all of this (those needles aren't bad, I don't feel them thankfully!) have you tried it?

I'm really enjoying the acupuncture! It's actually quite relaxing and apparently helps success rates. It's pricey but if it works it will be totally worth it! If you do decide to try it make sure you find an acupuncturist specialising in fertility. 😊

How's things going with you anyway? I've been on progynova since Saturday and awaiting AF to arrive to start injections which should be on Friday. No real side effects yet either which is good! Maybe a tad emotional but I get like that leading up to AF anyway. My GP has offered to help me with my injections also since she knows I'm nervous which is great!
