Two sets of twins on the 21st! Aww
Ahhhh I'm next!! Geez I don't think I'm ever going to have this baby! I think I'll be pregnant forever. Time has slowed right down
Hopeful37 - 1 more week to go!! Hoping the next week flies by for you!
Baby Gypsy has been admitted to the Neonatal Ward tonight for low blood sugar, grunting since birth and high respiratory rate. They are giving him precautionary antibiotics for 48 hours in case he has an infection from breathing in meconium contaminated fluid. My heart broke when the midwife told me they had to take him away from us.
I'm trying to pump to make sure my milk still comes in because Bub is too tired to breastfeed at the moment. Any advice from the mummies with bubs in special care?
Oh gypsy, my heart is full for you!! Hopefully he'll be back with you very soon, I'm sure all you want to do is hold him! At least you'll have lots of colostrum ready for him when he needs it.
And congrats Lolly! How beautiful they both are. I haven't worked out how to get a photo of my bruiser on here, will try again once I go home tomorrow.
I'm in amazement at the transformation my nipples have gone through in the last few days - I feel like someone else's boobs have attached themselves to my chest! Will have to read through properly now and see what stage everyone else is with this boob business.
Hey ladies! Barca they're a little bit cagey about giving me a day as it depends on Austin having suck feeds and gaining weight for 48 hours. The little bugger pulled his feeding tube out last night and he's had bottles since without having to put it back in so that's a good sign. Hopefully in the next few days.
Congrats lolly and gypsy! Gypsy it's heartbreaking when they take bubs away and so damn scary. We knew we wouldn't get very long with Austin after he was born because he was so early but it was still upsetting. If they need some medical help it's the best place for them and we mummas and papas just have to be patient until they're strong enough to come home.
You've got this Gypsy. Bubs will be fine and after everything else we've endured you're strong enough to cope with this too. Have your midwives talked to you about possibly getting a bit tearly 4 or 5 days after giving birth? My teary day coincided with Austin having a bad day and I literally cried all day and all night and woke up crying the next day! It went away just as quickly but it was awful at the time. X
