We're at Glengarry Private. Well that was a bit of a roller coaster but we all made it safely off. Austin Reece was born at 9.01pm on the 16/8 weighing 5 pounds, 5. He turned a very healthy shade of pink quickly but is in the incubator to regulate his temp and to fatten him up a bit. He is a tiny bundle of perfect!

I had a natural birth with my midwife checking me once during painful contractions and telling me you are only 1cm this will take ages. I'm in huge amounts of pain thinking I'm a total wimp with no pain tolerance. Gas made me throw up. Morphine did nothing except make me sleepy and itch. Epidural worked a treat. The midwife checked me after the epidural was put in and was shocked I was fully dilated and wanting to push. Hubby got so mad because he was saying the contractions are close and hardcore and she brushed him off.

Bubs got a bit distressed while pushing so forceps were used with no episiotomy. Minor tear with one stitch and about 3 pushes and he was out. Apparently the placenta had an abruption which they think caused bubs distress.
And now I am a mumma and totally smitten with my baby boy and my hubby.

Hopeful I'm feeling so blissed out and happy I'm having trouble sleeping. I should be making the most out of being able to get an uninterrupted sleep while the nurses look after Austin but I'm pretty buzzed.

That's great to hear. And so glad everything went well. U will probably drift off soon then wake in the morning and have a moment of thinking did that happen last night, was it real? Then get excited all over again once you realise your a mumma!
I'm having trouble sleeping too. The last week or so I can't make it through the night without getting up for an hour or 2. Maybe it's my bodies way of preparation for what's ahead please oh please be soon!

Huge congrats to you and hubby, peedy. I just knew he would be okay. Honestly, make every effort you can to sleep now. You'll need that recharge for what's to come.

Yeah he's a slow feeder. It's a constant struggle. We bed share now, so I can actually sleep. Wouldn't have survived otherwise! Unfortunately we are in a small bed on holidays and I'm barely sleeping at all.
