Depends on where you go hon. At my clinic the lab tech always sat down with me and told me what grade my emby was, and why it was given that grade. So for example, the last transfer I had they said "Look, it's a BC grade. It's a bit dark which is expected due to your age. It's divided to the expected number of cells but is slightly fragmented.." etc.

Before I knew to ask the tech, in my prior cycle, I went to meet with my FN and asked her. She told me that my emby that cycle was "a AA grade and looked fantastic. Really unusual for someone of your age to get an emby that good..."

Now, things to bare in mind....

Even though that miraculous emby looked good, it wasn't. It was a dud. What an emby looks like and what it is genetically are two very different things. In the end it implanted VERY quickly but I had a MC at 8 1/2 weeks.

The other thing with gradings is that a AA emby can so easily drift away, yet a CC could be a miracle fighter emby. You really can't tell. Plenty of women are holding their babies from lesser grade embies, and yet here I am with empty arms. Also, keep in mind that when you hear a grading, it does taint your expectations and hence your faith in the emby. Right from the start I had no faith my BC emby would take. How sad that I, as that emby's Momma, did not support it. From now on in I choose not to ask for that very reason.

As far as reports go...I've never received anything on paper, and I've not heard of anyone receiving a copy in writing but for the occasional 'mistake' where it was given to the Momma by accident.

Oh wow @Charlie74 how good would it have been to read that report. I wish we got a report like that at each cycle as you say its our information.

QFG labs send a report on how your embryo's are going to your FS every day. They'll also grade them on days 3/5. Those reports will no doubt be in your file. (That's how they did it when I was there...don't think it's changed).

I also spoke with an Embryologist every day at the lab & got a report/grading about my embryo's verbally over the ph.

Nothing yet. Just an acknowledgement from the FS. The nurse rarely responds.

Grr. This process is so stressful and I find myself spending countless hours on google researching it all..

Ha and yeah well if you find an answer then please share it with me as there is no sure answers with IVF.
The ugly truth is for some women it's a numbers game, some get lucky and get BFP first IVF transfer, some do 20 cycles to get a BFP, some turn to donor sperm or embryos or surrogates and some walk away empty handed and broke.
All you can do is find a good FS who you trust and who knows their stuff and isnt just all about the money and hope they can get you over the line.
I wouldn't worry too much as you are only up to your 3rd transfer. Once you get up to 5,6,7 then it becomes apparent that there may be more issues and further testing might be required. If you are going to wazza he will do the testing he leaves no stones unturned. He won't cycle you until he has done every form of testing that you haven't already had

@Charlie74 - for my FET in June with Monash it was $1842 full cost and the Medicare rebate was $880.00.
