@Bongley how is little Alex going? Home soon I hope! @Blossom74 its September next month!! @Green lady how are you feeling?
@Molros - ok. Brown spotting again today. I've had 3 weeks in the clear and now spotting is back. I see my OB on Friday so I guess I just wait it out til then unless it turns red. I've never had this before in any pregnancy and have to say I feel like I'm in a living hell at the moment between constant nausea and now spotting!

Hi ladies, hoping its ok if I join in here? ( I used to be on this thread quite a while ago when I did my first icsi cycle). Recognize some familiar names A few pages back somebody asked about OE in the over 40s - I was 40.8 when my first cycle worked and I got my miracle bubba - incredibly lucky..., not so lucky second time around trying for a sibling (at 42), just recently miscarried at 6 weeks. Waiting for AF so can try again.

This time have been put on a different protocol which I'm nervous about - but I guess nothing ventured nothing gained - been put on a boost/flare synarel to try and get more eggs (have done antagonist both previous cycles). 1st cycle 5mature eggs - 3fert - det day 3. 2nd cycle 4 mature eggs - 2 fert - det day 3 again. Nothing to freeze both cycles so need to do fresh stim each time it seems.

Has anyone had any experience with a boost cycle? I have to have synarel twice a day from day 2, then puregon 450 as well from day 3. After EPU will be on double dose crinone and pregnyl boosters which I've never had before.

Good luck to you all And @Billie2 fingers crossed your numbers rise nicely x

@Green lady I hope you don't mind me chiming in but can you ring the OB and tell them about the spotting (I had some spotting too in early pregnancy and she got me in that day and did a scan for my peace of mind)? Just to save you stressing till Friday..

Also, can you tell from your hormone levels whether there is a lining issue (at any point, even during 2ww) or can it only be done via a scan? I'm worried that I may have lining issues, only because I don't have heavy period, but perhaps those lining issues are not happening until after transfer.. Do u think that's possible?

The stims are going to stimulate the growth of follicles in your ovaries and the production of estrogen too which your lining needs adequate amounts of to grow and thicken (it also relies on other factors such as adequate blood flow as well to help that process along).

Your E2 (estrogen) hormone levels throughout your stim Cycles in combination with your scans (and really, there should be multiple scans & BT's happening) paint the picture of how your ovaries are responding. A poor response to the FSH means your ovaries aren't going to respond well, produce many follicles or the follicles you have won't grow very well or as quickly as they should and neither will your lining I don't think??? (correct me if I'm wrong Girls please??).

A lining issue such as a thin lining etc can only be seen via a scan. Some lining issues such as endometriosis/fibroids/Asherman Syndrome etc that can cause major issues with an embryo implanting can *sometimes* be seen via an ultrasound. Often a HSG (hysterosalpingogram) procedure is done to make sure issues such as these aren't present and if they are they can be dealt with then and there (if possible). Some of the Lovelies here who have had this procedure done can clarify further.

No, you can't tell during the 2WW if you have lining issues. Your FS would know prior to transfer if you did and wouldn't transfer any of your embryo's if he/she felt that your lining wasn't at the appropriate thickness etc to do so. Ask your FS what his/her minimum measurement for transfer of an embryo is. Some will say 6mm, some will say 7mm's. They all have their own preference Luv.

I don't think that the lack of a heavy period is necessarily indicative of lining issues in and of itself???

Anyhoo...here's a link explaining more about thin endometrial linings and what causes it:

Repeat after me: "Brown blood = old blood"

IMO that's a good sign that it's not anything sinister Luv. Yes, unless it's a fresh bleed with cramps etc, I think you should be feeling confident that all is still well in there with your little peanut ok??

Easier said than done I know, but the odds are well and truly on your side this time Luv

In the meantime...take it easy anyway and rest where you can. If something doesn't feel right or you have a fresh bleed with cramping etc, get yourself to your OB or some other healthcare professional asap allright??

@BlondeinBrisvegas I have poor response to fsh so basically if you see three follies at the start of scan day 2 I will have probably four by the end of fsh injections, at trigger. So, naturally I have one or two follies each month I think.I can't grow what I don't have, so the response to fsh is always poor. but when on fsh my follies grow 2mm daily like everyone else. For me lining thickness isn't ever an issue always 10-11mm and I don't get crazy heavy periods. Just thought I'd add my 5cents worth lol
