@BlondeinBrisvegas - I didn't know that about growth hormone! Thanks for the info! I must had crap crap embryos, even tho they were 8Bs with 10-20% fragmentation!
@Billie2 - there are indeed risks. Thanks for reminding me.., sometimes I lose track of the "slowly but steady wins the race"..

As far as the Embryologists are concerned, your embryo's weren't crap Luv. They need a benchmark in the lab (which is where the gradings come in) so they know which embryo's to transfer, freeze, test for PGD etc so in that regard, your embryo's were good

However, that's only going by appearance. The only way to know if they're truly competent and chromosomally normal is to have them PGD tested I'm afraid or else you're just "transferring blind" and hoping for the best when you do..that an embryo will implant and when it does, that it's chromosomally sound etc (though to be fair, even PGD tested embryo's don't always implant either).

As for your Clinic being against growing them longer than Day 3 that would be due to it costing them more as the embryo's have to be moved to a different culture media to grow to Day 5. Some low cost clinics don't want to spend the extra money to do this so will only grow embryo's to Day 3 and transfer/freeze then.

I also agree with @Billie2. You've only done 2 stim Cycles. I know Wazza told me that he personally thought 6 stim Cycles was a fair enough effort to try using my OE's (which was all we were going to do) before either going the DE route (which was not an option for us at the time due mainly to financial reasons) or else drawing the line underneath it and having to get on with life knowing we'd given it our best shot.

As you can see from my signature, it took 42 eggs collected from me of which 24 fertilised and 12 of those embryo's were transferred (with none of the remaining embryo's when we had any ever being of a good enough quality to freeze) before I was bloody lucky enough to get my BFFP using my OE's so I had a lot of dud eggs/embryo's before I was fortunate enough to get a chromosomally normal one.

@Caesardust she is so cute! Love the bow. When our pup comes home from the salon I never know what she will have on! Once she had a cupcake scarf!

as I understand it, the grading is from a visual appearance of the embryo - if it's got the right range / quantity of cells and %fragmentation and growth (cells in the right position for it's growth stage). it doesn't mention other things which are likely the factors involved in next stage progression like amount of energy within the cells/mitochondria involved in the splitting/joining of the dna/rna, amount of hormones/proteins (base stuff) making up the different parts of the cells. & other things we probably don't know about yet.

fwiw, all mine have been 'textbook' (never had gradings told to me) but still failed (eventually in a couple of cases), so they likely looked good but had problems with the contents/other properties of the cells/chromosomes didn't line up well enough to progress which is more prevalent in older cells.

sounds like a good idea. it sounds like those numbers could have been CP but depends on how your body absorbs the pregnyl. it *should* have been gone by day14 but perhaps your body takes longer. could try endometrin instead? but I'm sure your FS will sort you out with something suitable.

@Charlie74 I think @Billie2 means 'hope' not a person but that thing which I can't find much of these days! As for the pregnyl, all it does is make me feel pregnant when I'm not! Maybe the other girls can answer that one.

No her name is Bella. I rescued her from becoming a soup base in South Korea when I was living there. My cat that died a couple of years back name was Caesar. He was a rescue too.

    @Caesardust, she's gorgeous!

So I picked up my FET meds last nite... And it's def gonna keep me busy.. Couple new things for me, progynova pessaries X 2 per day ... as well as the 12mg of oral progynova tabs & 6mg slow release estraderm patches.. OMG so much estrogen.. My poor DP better hang onto his hat!! Lol!
Also continue Trental, Vit E, aspirin, nitro dur patches, prednisolone, clexane

I'm having 225 gonal F daily, then a pregnyl trigger (10,000), and then more pregnyl on days 3, 6 & 9 after transfer.. What does that do again??

And then she's only got me using ONE crinone post transfer? Which is nothing right? Obviously I'll do more, Dr M wants me on something like 800mg progesterone pessaries so ill do that anyway.. But just seems strange LB has only said 1 crinone. Doesn't seem like much?
I'm so excited for you starting @Charlie74. You are definitely on the whole shebang for that lining so it better play ball. I'm not on the patches this time but have a box left. I'm wondering whether I should slap one on prior to my lining scan on the 8/08. I'm on 6 a day progynova, 2 trental, 1 Viagra, 2 Dex, 1 aspirin. I could call my nurse and ask whether it's worth it but I assume they'll just say do what you want. What would you do?

@ceaserdust awwwww the poor little possum! That's horrendous! It would have taken you a lot to bring her back to Oz, yes? All the quarantine etc. South Korea would have been amazing to experience living in, one place I haven't been.

Pregnyl contains HCG my understanding is its a kick start to make your body think it's pregnant and get the hormones to react as such since everything we do is do meditated. I might be wrong though.

@ Caesardust she's adorable and you are a saint. I love people who rescue animals in situations like that and your post just made me go .
